EV buyers and anyone considering buying here, read this before you sign. We purchased a 2025 Honda Prologue from this dealership in May 2025. Our salesperson was let go shortly after, and no one took ownership of our file. Every post-sale obligation that should have been routine became something I had to personally chase. Registration paperwork was mishandled. For three weeks before our temporary tags expired, I had to call the dealership nearly every day. We ultimately had to demand they FedEx overnight the permanent plates. They arrived on the exact day our temp tags expired. One more day of inaction and we would have been driving an unregistered vehicle. The more serious failure was federal. Federal law required the dealership to file a Time of Sale report with the IRS within 3 days of our purchase, and to provide us with a copy of the seller report at the time of sale. Both are required for the buyer to claim the $7,500 Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. They did neither. We discovered the failure in March 2026, when the IRS rejected our 2025 tax return because no Time of Sale report existed in their system for our vehicle. After roughly a dozen phone calls over ten days, the Finance Director eventually located the IRS Energy Credits Online portal and submitted the report 333 days late. The IRS approved the late submission on May 13, 2026 — 376 days after the sale. By then we had already filed our 2025 return without the credit and paid additional federal tax. I sent two written demands to the General Manager. Neither was answered. After American Honda case management escalated the matter to the dealership, the General Manager formally declined to compensate us for the loss — taking the position that providing the IRS-approved form a year late resolves the matter and that we should pursue an amended tax return at our own cost and risk. The consistent pattern across both failures: this dealership will let your problem run right up to the deadline — or past it — unless you make daily, escalating noise. Even then, you receive bare-minimum resolution at the last possible moment, with no acknowledgment of the harm caused. If you already purchased an EV here, log into your IRS account and verify that a qualifying Clean Vehicle exists for your VIN. If it doesn't, you have a problem the dealership will not voluntarily fix. If you are considering buying an EV here, get every post-sale commitment in writing before you sign — including written confirmation that the Time of Sale report will be filed within 3 days and that you will receive your copy of the seller report at the time of sale. Verify it on your IRS account afterward. Do not assume they will handle it correctly. Ours did not.

I brought my 2003 Honda S2000 with only 60,000 miles to Honda of Tomball a few weeks ago for a shifter rebuild, transmission fluid service, and a full diagnostic inspection. I specifically chose a Honda dealership because I believed my car would receive OEM-quality work from experienced technicians. Since many S2000 parts are discontinued, I personally purchased and supplied a complete OEM shifter rebuild kit that cost me around $200. I was then charged $656.55 in labor alone for the rebuild. Although the final bill ended up being higher than originally quoted, I accepted it because I trusted the dealership and expected quality work. Shortly after getting the car back, the shifter began feeling worse than before. I eventually brought the car to a trusted mechanic who specializes in Honda S2000s, and what he found was shocking. He told me this was one of the worst attempted shifter rebuilds he had personally seen. According to the inspection: * Several OEM replacement parts that I supplied were never installed. * The original pivot shifting ball was never removed or replaced, causing unnecessary wear and damage. * The old contaminated grease — filled with dirt and debris from over 20 years of driving — was never cleaned out. Instead, new grease was simply added on top of the old grease. * The work appeared rushed and incomplete. On top of that, I specifically requested a diagnostic inspection to identify anything preventing the transmission from operating properly. I was told the “master mechanic” completed the inspection, yet they somehow failed to identify that the car was shifting poorly because the clutch master/slave cylinder was leaking and failing — a very basic issue that any competent inspection should have caught. Because of the negligence and poor workmanship from this service department, I am now facing over $2,000 in additional repairs to correct problems that should have been properly handled the first time. I genuinely thought bringing my S2000 to an official Honda dealership was the safest and smartest choice. Instead, I lost time, money, and confidence in the quality of work being performed. I would strongly recommend other S2000 owners and enthusiasts think carefully before trusting this dealership’s service department with their vehicle.
