BEWARE with the service department! - beto911
BEWARE with the service department!!!! When I arrived, the person who checked me in looked at the problem, the sagging sunroof cover/liner and said, "Ok, it's going to be $275.00" - something along this price range. A couple of hours later, I received a text message stating that my total cost was approx $6,000.00 and it included a list of suggested repairs beyond what I dropped it off for. When I scrolled down the list of suggested repairs, it was apparent that the service department has abusive business practices. Included in the list of suggested repairs, they included items that I recently replaced/fixed or did not need repair - including a nonexistent oil leak.
When I rejected their suggested repairs, Nissan of Elk Grove provided me with a bill of approximately $275.00 - the cost of Elk Grove Nissan assessing the needed repairs. Given that I know a thing or two about car repairs, I requested to speak wth the Service Manager. The Service Manager, Wes, proceeded to yell at me in his office, stating, "NO ONE WILL GIVE YOU A FREE ESTIMATE! TELL ME ONE BUSINESS THAT WOULD GIVE YOU A FREE ESTIMATE?!?" When I mentioned a few businesses that provide free estimates, Wes flipped out and proceeded to escalate his tone and demeanor. I expressed shock for the approx $4,500 cost to repair the sagging sunroof liner/cover. I shared that I was told by several upholstery shops that the make and model Nissan vehicle that I drove has defective parts that keep the sunroof cover/liner from sagging/falling. Wes flipped out once again!!!
A day or two later, I took my vehicle to Schwab Tires and they proved my conclusion, Nissan of Elk Grove has abusive Service Repair practices - NO oil leak!!! I have yet to fix the sagging sunroof liner/cover due to scheduling conflicts BUT I doubt that it truly costs approx $4,500.
I am giving Elk Grove Nissan a single star because I cannot do less. The service Manager lacks basic customer service skills. Their business practice is abusive, to say the least, and I plan to report to the Better Business Bureau.
