I received an email from York with service coupons. I scheduled 2 services to be done on Wednesday, July 10 at 1pm. The brake fluid flush for $159.95 and synthetic oil change 6 quart with tire rotation I scheduled 2 services to be done on Wednesday, July 10 at 1pm. The brake fluid flush for $159.95 and synthetic oil change 6 quart with tire rotation for $99.99. The service advisor informed me that I could only use 1 coupon referring to the fine print that read limit 1 transaction per visit. This is totally unacceptable! It would make sense if I was trying to use 2 coupons for the same service, like brake fluid flush for $159.95 and 10% off on that service. It was 2 coupons for 2 different services. In hindsight, I should have done the brake fluid flush using the coupon. Then after it was done and paid for, check the vehicle back in the express lane using the synthetic oil change tire rotation coupon to make it 2 separate visits. Or brought the vehicle back the next day for the oil change. Both options are unreasonable and not customer friendly or focused. This would be a waste of time for both the customer and the dealership service techs. So, on the spot, I agreed to use the brake flush for $159.95 and synthetic oil change without a coupon for $93.52 and no tire rotation. I had to take my vehicle somewhere else for the tire rotation. As a result, I did not get the full service from York that my appointment was scheduled for. Then, to make a bad experience even worse, there was a small post-it note by the credit card scanner indicating a 3% surcharge fee or in my case $8.82 to use a credit card. Totally unexpected and at that point I had no options, but to pay it. Had I known in advance, I would have brought a check or a pocket full of cash. I find this troublesome. York is the only business where I had to pay a surcharge to use a credit card. Communication needs to be improved. Very disappointing! After this experience, I have to ask, why would I ever want to have my vehicles serviced or want to purchase a new vehicle from York? More
