We were very pleased with the attention, graciousness, and courtesy that we received from Eric Cornelison. He wasn't pressuring us, and was very helpful! We started wanting a manual Tacoma. We designed one for a delivery w/a deposit of 500 dollars. After waiting for over 6 months we ended up purchasing a Tacoma from a different dealership. The other dealership's salesman obviously didn't care about us and just wanted to make a sale. The service department at the other dealership was excellent. We weren't as happy with their salesperson. Eric reached out to us when a manual Tacoma finally came in to Toyota DM. We drove it, but since we had already purchased a Tacoma, we looked at several other vehicles. Eric was very accommodating to us. We test drove two different vehicles, and finally decided on our Cruiser. We are still trying to understand all the bells and whistles. We did appreciate the help we received getting accustomed to all the different electronics. Justin Vos was extremely accommodating and even responded several times to my emails, as I was trying to figure out my remote start etc. I hope to come back to the Toyota of DM for a second Tutorial on the cruiser. I need a bit more guidance on the technical. We did not know on the Cruiser that it took only premium unleaded gas. That was a surprise to us. No one had mentioned that earlier. Maybe they just assumed that we would know? So the end result was that we started working with Eric on a Tacoma. When one of those didn't come and we had to get another vehicle, we ordered a Tacoma with everything we wanted from a different dealership. We came back to look at the Tacoma when it finally arrived at the dealership, and we ended up buying something completely different because of Eric Cornelison. More
Three times I have had issues with Toyota of Des Moines service department. The first time they refused to fix a tire on our Rav 4 because they said it had two nails in the tire, it didn’t it had one and I service department. Toyota wanted to sell me $1000 in tires not repair one for $25. The second time I purchased a set of Yokohama tires and an alignment check for my daughter’s Camry with an online purchase at Toyota of Des Moines. When I picked up the car, I noticed that I had been charged for an alignment not an alignment check. I asked Blake for the alignment paperwork from the tech and I discovered they made no adjustments to the alignment and I show Blake the online order for the alignment check only. He finally removed the alignment charge after I pointed out his mistake. The third issue was with the Yokohama tires I purchased from Toto Des Moines one of them has a slipped belt at 20000 miles and Toyota of Des Moines refused to warranty the tire because they said to my wife and daughter “ they could’ve hit a pothole and damaged the tire” the tire has NO visible damage just a defective belt. Because I have had so many bad experiences with the service department at Toyota of Des Moines and I would suggest to anyone getting service work done at Toyota of Des Moines to pay very close attention because they will charge for work they didn’t do, try to replace a perfectly good tire instead of repairing it and refuse to warranty a defective tire they sold to you.
