My scheduled appointment was to get the recommended services at the 50k mark for my Tacoma. These services include tire rotation. After I paid the invoice and the vehicle was returned to me, I noticed that I was billed for the tire rotation, but the service was not performed. I returned to the service advisor to point this out. The service advisor was able to confirm that the service wasn't provided. Billing for services not provided is a form of fraud. I am writing to you to inform you that I will file a complaint with the FTC, the BBB and the Texas Attorney General office to report this incident. Best regards, Eduardo Arteaga More
I took my 2019 Lexus es350 to Toyota of Denton for the 120,000 mile service out of convenience. They are 10 minutes from my house, and with a busy week, I did not wish to take a day to take it to Dallas. Won't make that mistake again. Among the services on the 120,000 service is to replace the spark plugs. I was told as I was checking in that it was approximately $ 600 and some. When I was checking out, and was given a total bill of 1,373 for the total service, my comment was "wow." I was asked, did he not quote you the price, to which I replied $ 600 and some. She replied that was just the labor. Well, not exactly. The labor for changing 6 spark plugs was $ 959.80. The total cost for replacing the spark plugs was $ 1,097.80. According to what I've seen on line, the average cost for replacing spark plugs is $ 250-700, all in. The other thing I am not sure I understand is how you can have your car at a dealership for 2 hours, and the total labor charged during that 2 hours was $ 1,032. What sort of hourly rate is that? How can they charge these outrageous labor charges when it took only 2 hours to perform to complete 120,000 mile checkup? My complaint is not with the service reps. They were courteous and are did their job well. This problem is well above their pay grade. More
Service dept overpriced and shotty work. Spent 1700 plus $ on replacing back hatch motors ( or whatever makes it open). Just for it to have same problem 2 years later. Only had one year wa Spent 1700 plus $ on replacing back hatch motors ( or whatever makes it open). Just for it to have same problem 2 years later. Only had one year warranty on this service so we are SOL. About a year ago also took car in for water pump issue. They wanted 3 times more to fix as local mechanic. We passed on Toyota and car runs great after local mechanic fixed it. Just still have back hatch issue. DO NOT USE THIS PLACE. More
NEVER buy a used vehicle from Toyota of Denton! I purchased a 2014 Sienna that only had 115K miles on it with an out-the-door price of just over $19K. Within a month, the A/C starting having interm I purchased a 2014 Sienna that only had 115K miles on it with an out-the-door price of just over $19K. Within a month, the A/C starting having intermittent issues and our first rain after purchasing (just over a month after purchase) had water pouring out of where the driver shoulder belt attaches, the ceiling was dripping and the floor was soaked. Their response was that it is a used vehicle and there was nothing they could do. If I wanted their service dept to work on the leak it would cost me $1200 to remove the ceiling liner to search for the leak and another $1600 to remove the carpet to ensure there was no mold. These costs would not include actual repairs or needed replacement parts. After 4 months I still haven't been able to find/repair the leak, the A/C only works when sitting at idle, and now the fuel door (which looked like it didn't fit perfectly but seemed to function properly when I bought the van) is falling off because of a broken fuel door hinge which I found online is a known issue and Toyota issued maintenance notice in 2019 but it was never repaired. I would have been better off buying from a private party instead of paying the usual dealer premium since Toyota of Denton has refused to fix any of these costly issues. -- Toyota of Denton reached out to me a couple hours after I posted my review (Jan 23, 2024). They asked questions about my experience that would have been answered if they had bothered looking at my history in their system. They responded the next day with an offer to try to diagnose the water leak but I would have to pay the repair costs. No offer to address any of the other issues. Just another confirmation to NEVER do business with Toyota of Denton. -- Just got a call (Feb 1, 2024) from the Used Car Sales Manager (first time the manager has reached out by the way). Toyota of Denton is still refusing to fix the issues but they are now offering to buy the van back for the price I paid (not including tax, title, license). That means I would be out a couple thousand dollars in vehicle payments and TTL. That also means that Toyota of Denton is willing to either take back the van, fix it and sell it again, or they plan to take back the vehicle and sell it to someone else without fixing the issues. If their plan is to fix it and resell, why don't they just fix it now? If they plan to resell it without fixing it, well, that would show a pattern wouldn't it. More
