We were trying to trade one of our cars for a Mustang today. We talked to the salesman yesterday and he was telling us how great their trade-in values were so we decided to give them a try. All said and today. We talked to the salesman yesterday and he was telling us how great their trade-in values were so we decided to give them a try. All said and done they were saying we were $8000 upside down (which is probably $2000 under what our one car is worth). After telling us that they wanted us to come in with $15,000 down on a $34,000 car. I have never been treated that way from any other dealership in my life. I was also going order a new bronco from them but I guess I’ll go to Ray Varner Ford for that More
RV Service at this location is NOT recommended.Bought RV Service at this location is NOT recommended. Bought full set of tires (6) that were out of balance when leaving the location. They realized their RV Service at this location is NOT recommended. Bought full set of tires (6) that were out of balance when leaving the location. They realized their equipment was out of spec when they attempted to re-balance my tires. (extra trip to location 120 miles). They did a "Full Service" and review of the motorhome while doing the tires. They noted a "slight" leak" in a valve cover. Asked the RV service manager to replace the gaskets. Answer by Matt, "we can't do that work"! The slight leak equated to a half quart of oil in 120 miles, not slight! Returned to location and spoke to the Service Manager Kelly. Apologizes that they don't have any certified technicians to change valve cover gaskets! Additionally, they wouldn't be able to do the work for 6-8 weeks, if they can find a certified technician to do the work! To the Ford Management at Ted Russell, you do not have RV service. If your mechanics can't change valve cover gaskets, you also don't have truck service. This was an F53 Ford Chassis. Your operation obviously does not have their equipment maintained to keep it in spec based on my experience! I strongly advise any Ford Chassis RV owners to avoid this location for service of any type! More
Do not go here for service! They are too expensive and not sure they are completely truthful about what needs to be done. I would not trust them. Very bad experience. Don’t fall for their lifetime power train warranty scam! Don’t fall for this dealership’s xxxxxxx sales antics. They claim to provide a lifetime power train warranty, but when it comes time to actually have Don’t fall for this dealership’s xxxxxxx sales antics. They claim to provide a lifetime power train warranty, but when it comes time to actually have to cover something the third party warranty they bought finds a reason to deny the claim. In my case, my truck developed an oil leak in the timing belt cover, it’s a rather costly repair. The warranty company denied the claim after several hours of deliberating by saying doing my own oil changes voided my warranty. Oil changes had absolutely nothing to do with this defect. But still, I provided receipts of every oil filter and oil I have ever purchased and put in the truck. Not a single manufacturer’s warranty in the US prohibits DIY preventative maintenance. Several years ago I had a very bad experience where an oil change damaged my brand new car, ever since I’ve done my own, with top quality filters and full synthetic oil. The service department, and I assume the dealership in general has done nothing but wash their hands of this with nothing more than lip service and a $2,000 repair bill to cover on my own. I say I assume, because they refuse to return calls, which is not much worse than the warranty company refusing to give me the names of the employees I spoke to, and told me “well, you did get the warranty for free”. Not sure what that has to do with it, but sure gives real insight into why they denied the claim. Again, avoid this dealership, their “warranty” isn’t worth the paper it’s printed on. Go somewhere else, there are too many good dealerships who do right by their customers and stand by their word. This dealership uses meaningless words and warranties to convince you to buy. More
Do Not Go to Ted Russell Ford on Parkside Let me start by saying that I bought a $45k truck from these guys and 2 years later the battery had a dead cell. The battery has a 3 year warranty. I Let me start by saying that I bought a $45k truck from these guys and 2 years later the battery had a dead cell. The battery has a 3 year warranty. I honestly expected to go to the dealership and get a replacement battery. I mean what is a warranty if you won't replace it when it's warranted? Russ the customer service guy at Ted Russell (who has no business working with customers or in service) actually told me "Sorry, I can't help you.". He said I would have to have my truck towed to the dealership before they could warranty the battery. I told him that I'd bought an expensive extended warranty on this truck to which he said "well good that will cover your tow.". Russ was very short and rude and his boss, Kelly, was a real people person too, let me tell you. I went to the sales manager, thinking maybe since he made a commission on me he would be willing to help. He basically got them to put it on a charger for me. They called me 2 days later and said "The battery left here is fine, just like we told you.". I went to pick it up, brought it home and put it in my truck and it was dead. I disconnected the positive and was able to charge it all through the night enough to barely get it to start the next morning. Two other places verified it had a dead cell. This truck I bought from them (the 7th and last vehicle I will ever buy from them) has now had the transmission replaced, the torque converter replaced 3 times. But that was not why I was there. I just needed them to replace a $100 battery so that another dealership could utilize the extended warranty I bought from them and fix my truck. I spent an entire week of half days off from work just to get this battery replaced out of principle. I had to go to the regional director of operations for the dealerships just to get them to warranty a battery. They traded thousands of dollars of future spend with me for a $100 battery. They basically told me I wasn't worth the potential charge back for a battery. THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TED RUSSELL KINGSTON PIKE AND TED RUSSELL PARKSIDE. DO NOT GO TO TED RUSSELL PARKSIDE. More
Service Department RIPOFF! We took a vehicle in for recall transmission work. When we got the car after repairs, the AC no longer worked. Service adviser Rich Love told us it "wasn't their fault" the AC didn't work and wanted over $500 to replace a $1 part and recharge the system. I'm in the parts business and know this part cannot break on it's own unless recharging AC or it's been tampered with. This place is an ABSOLUTE RIPOFF! NEVER AGAIN! More
