Took car in because of service warnings listed on dash and paid for diagnostics to be done and that cost was to go toward cost of repair. Dealer said parts not available but would not refund diagnostic f and paid for diagnostics to be done and that cost was to go toward cost of repair. Dealer said parts not available but would not refund diagnostic fee even though they could not do repair! I counted on the fee to be applied to repair. If they were unable to do so now or in the future I should not have been charged. They knew what warnings were listed and the probable cause and what parts would be required prior to diagnostics and that those parts were discontinued!!! More
My prior reviews have been great for Simpson, but recently they apparently replaced the service manager and it really shows. Took my truck in for an alignment and a recall on the headliner airbags. recently they apparently replaced the service manager and it really shows. Took my truck in for an alignment and a recall on the headliner airbags. I also mentioned to Lance that I had been getting a check engine light and a warning about the emissions system, and that I needed it checked out as i was heading out on a trip soon. When i picked up the truck, Lance confirmed that the alignment and recall work was done. I also specifically asked about any codes or anything found regarding the emissions. Lance stated they had looked and didn't find anything. Once headed out on my trip, i noticed that the driver's side seatbelt didn't appear to pull out as easily. It really takes a bit of struggle to get it out, and it did not before.. It seems like they either put it back together wrong or left some part off, but i can't say for sure until i take it to another mechanic. Worse though is the fact that I'm headed out through the desert to AZ and my check engine light comes on again. Needless to say that really pisses me off since i have my two young sons in the car, it is 115 degrees outside, and I've done my due diligence to have what is supposed to be a good dealership. I end up having to take the truck into a local dealership where they immediately diagnosed a problem with an EGR valve. They noted that there were a history of codes, so basically Lance lied. They didn't check for any codes. One thing that confirms this is that there is a sign on the window of the service department saying they charge $125 for a diagnostic... yeah... OBD2 scanner. That charge is complete xxxxxxxx anyway, but they didn't charge it Why... well... because they didn't diagnose it. Nice job going from 5 start reviews to 1 star reviews. I recommend bringing back Roger Abbott. He ran the service department well, unlike your relative. More
Let me just share a little piece of my life right now. The last week of December we scheduled a recall to taken care of on Nathans (paid off) 2014 Chevy Cruze. We took his Cruze to the Simpson Chevy deale The last week of December we scheduled a recall to taken care of on Nathans (paid off) 2014 Chevy Cruze. We took his Cruze to the Simpson Chevy dealership in Irvine, Ca. What should have been a routine recall quickly went south. At first we were told Nathan’s car didn’t qualify for the recall when it clearly did (whistling noises stated on the recall paper, his VIN number clearly listed and having all of the issues the stated could potentially happen) and we’re quoted over 5000k$. We went to pick it up and said we were not paying and would just take it home (in reality we were going to seek another Chevy dealership knowing his car qualified for the recall). We went to pick up his vehicle and waited 45 minutes with minimal communication and couldn’t understand why no one was giving us keys. We were told that we now suddenly (at pickup waiting for keys) that we all the sudden qualified for the recall. Nathan was given a rental vehicle and told a few days. So like any customer we waited the allotted amount of days anxiously awiating the “come pick up” call. When that call came we drove the thirty minutes back to the dealership (on New Years) to pick it up and finally lay this to rest. Upon arriving we once again waited a very long time and we’re told even though we were called for pickup it wasn’t quite done yet. Nathan finally gets the keys at nearing closing time and after arguing that we did not owe 1200$ for a RECALL REPAIR we left with his car. Nathan starts to drive home and immediately starts to smell engine oil burning, a problem we never had before. We assumed maybe they got a smidge of oil on the engine and it would be ok. This brings us to January 1st, the morning after when we immediately notice OIL IS EVERYWHERE on our driveway. Nathan’s car had JUST received a fresh synthetic oil change in December and we’ve never had an oil leaking issue. We immediately call Chevy and they tell us it’s not on them and we could PAY for an inspection to see what’s wrong. That same day Nathan tested positive for Covid. Since that day Simpson Chevy in Irvine will not return our calls. We have called multiple times and have been more than understanding to waiting our turn. We have called multiple times today and have been told the same generic “I’ll message them again and have them call you, no clue when we can get you in to have it looked at”. They will not acknowledge that though we had a recall that NEVER involved this that they could have potentially (and accidentally) not tightened something since they were rushing the day of pickup (New Years Eve), or potentially cracked something during the recall. Again we had ZERO issues and now Nathan’s car SPRAYS out every bit of oil it has. My husband is now left without any answers, any fixes, and no vehicle to drive to and from work. I am having to get our girls up hours before they need to be so Nathan can get to work and I can get the girls to school and sports sharing my vehicle. All of this from a recall that didn’t even truly affect the driving ability of his car. Just a simple whistle noise that the year of his make and model has had an issue with. The few times that Nathan has been able to speak to James Simpson he has been hung up on, pushed aside and nothing has been answered. We are now left with a broken car and a driveway full of oil. We are obviously a one income military family and worked extremely hard to have a vehicle that is paid off. This is not how you handle business. We have never had an ill experience with Chevy prior to this dealership location and TRULY JUST WANT A CALL BACK AND SOMEONE TO FIX HIS CAR. It had a fresh oil change the day we pulled into the dealership and now that oil sits soaking in kitty litter on our driveway. To say this has been a nightmare experience is an understatement. Currently two hours since the last time we were told we would receive a call back. Business hours close for today at 5pm. More

If you’re looking for a dealership that lacks a moral compass and attempts to corner you into a crappy loan then come here. If you want to look or discuss financing without the insufferable assume the sa compass and attempts to corner you into a crappy loan then come here. If you want to look or discuss financing without the insufferable assume the sale, pressure to buy now please go elsewhere. Max in sales and Andrew in financing are well versed in the tactic of this obsolete dealership. Trust your instincts and avoid Simpson Chevy at all cost. Of course I had buyer’s remorse and implored to return the Chevy Silverado I leased but there is no “cool off period” in CA. I had only dealt with Toyota of Orange previously and since they actually value customer satisfaction they allow a return within 3 days of signing. I physically left once and tried to leave twice before getting herded back to the table. I had to literally sneak out to go to CarMax to sell my truck. I was called and implored to come back so I don’t lose my spot to get to signing. No one else was there? I told Max I wouldn’t be able to finish the process today but he actually drove to CarMax to push the issue. I think they have the word NO removed from their ears since they are unable to process what it actually means. I woke up feeling deep regret that can only be described as “sales R***”. There were no other buyers at the time of my leasing and I can see why. I was in too much of a rush to make it to my son’s birthday party that evening. Trust your gut and avoid my mistake. Never buy a car in a rush and if it doesn’t feel right or they rub you the wrong way walk out and never look back. Of course their excuse is well we didn’t force you to sign it? You could have left? I did leave and was followed. Absolute worst dealership experience. No warranty or service included with purchase. You pay for your tank of gas before you leave the lot in their “drive off costs”. Just toss me in the pile of disgruntled Simpson Chevy of Irvine customers. More
