We went into SM Kia looking for a new car. We originally went to look at the Sorentos. Once we sat down with Thomson, we started talking about the price range of what we could afford each month. The Sorentos were out of that price range, so he suggested the Optima to us. He went a got an Optima for my husband to test drive. My husband fell in love with it. Thomson was very helpful and made sure that we were getting what we wanted in a car. He wasn't pushy and he worked with us to make sure that we could afford a nice car that we would enjoy. All of the salesmen were friendly and made us feel welcome in the dealership. Thomson called me 2 days later to check and see how I was liking the new car and to make sure that I knew to call if I had any questions or concerns at any point in time. More
TO was tremendously easy to work with. Initially, Chin did as expected and proposed a ridiculously high interest rate but in the end he turned out to be a stand-up guy. Not only did he make a phone call to secure an acceptable rate but then followed up the next business day (on his day off) to ensure that the financier did as promised. Mark was low-key and we appreciated the distinct lack of pressure to do things we didn't want to do. As with TO and Chin, he didn't initially offer us an advantageous price for the warrantee we purchased. However, he finally did lower it to an acceptable level that we could afforf to add to the price of the car without going broke. The dealership moved our tags from the old to the new car without our even knowing that it was going on. We really appreciated not having to worry about that. The next business day they filled the tank and detailed it throughout. And, although I had to ask, which was somewhat disappointing, the dealership did pony up for both keys and fobs without additional charge. All in all, I am very happy with Shawnee-Mission Kia and have already recommended it to several friends and family members. More

My husband's car died yesterday. We had no options, he has to be able to get to and from work. We applied for a loan with our credit union, and were turned down due to low credit score and past issues. Ev has to be able to get to and from work. Even though I have been weary about used car dealerships, I contacted Begi on the website and chatted with her about our issues. She called me at work and assured me that everything would be fine. I explained to her that I did not want my credit to be involved, as my score is SO low and I did not want to affect my husband being able to get a nice car. Again, she assured me that she would work something out. We gathered the documents we needed and went down to see Begi. She was as sweet as could be, and kept us laughing even though she could tell we were absolutely anxiety ridden. We told her exactly which car we were interested in. She asked if we would consider any others, and we told her we kind of had our hearts set on a certain one. She made it happen!! They were able to get us the exact car we wanted...and it is in nearly perfect condition and still under manufacturers warranty! They were able to get financing that included both of us, so we could work on improving my credit score. They talked to us like we were people, not credit scores. They didn't push for a higher down payment or make us feel like we had to "sell" ourselves to them. They gave us three financing options and allowed us to pick what worked best for us. We will absolutely return the this dealership in the future, when it will be my turn to get a new car!! WE LOVE OUR 2009 DODGE CALIBER!!! More

He is not like the rest of the dealership when it comes to financing, he wants to be fair and give you a good price on your vehicle and make sure the payment is what you feel comfortable with. My experience in trading in my car for a newer, used car could not have gone better. Valerie, my sales person was very helpful and knowledgeable and took into consideration everything I said. She was extremely polite and was never pushy in any way. Jin, I believe was the "pre"-finace person, was helpful in getting my approval done quickly and with ease. Bobby, the finance person, was very good to answer all my questions and take me through the paperwork portion without any problems. The one thing I must say was truly the best part of buying from the Shawnee Mission Used Cars was the office was open, everyone was very polite. I have previously, at another dealership, been stuck back in an office for hours while my sales person kept coming back and asking if there was any more I could put down or pay per month. Here, at Shawnee Mission, they listened, took the information I provided and were able to come up with a car and financing that worked for my budget.....the first time around! Went to Shawnee Mission Kia this past Monday as I was in the market for an SUV. We were considering other brands and models at the time, but the whole experience working with Kevin and the dealership in ge the market for an SUV. Even from the beginning, before I was ready to make a purchase on a vehicle, Kevin had kept in touch with me based on an inquiry I had made a couple months prior. At the time I was considering taking a step towards purchasing a Kia, but ended up holding off for a few months. During that time, Kevin kept in touch about dealer specials and possible opportunities and was very professional the entire time, even when I wasn't necessarily ready to make a purchase. The other employees at the dealership were great to work with as well. From the gentleman that did the financing for us and the finance manager that wrote up all the paperwork, they were all very kind and professional. After the purchase I was contacted by Kevin to make sure that everything was going well, which no other dealer representative had done before, and that really impressed me. I would definitely recommend Shawnee Mission Kia. More
