When I went into Kia, I came in with an open mind and mostly wanted to see what Kia had to offer. On my first day, heard several of the options, as given to me by Rocco Morando. I had been looking for a car for about 6-8 months. By chance I stopped by the Kia dealership. Mr. Omboga came out and showed me a couple of Kia Rios. Given it was rush hour, I did not want to drive a car unfamiliar in rush hour traffic, so Mr. Omboga drove us to a residential street so I could test drive the car. I then asked to go to the used car dealership, and the scenario repeated - he drove to a residential area, I drove the car, and we went back. I then asked to drive the new Rio again. The second time, I enjoyed driving it - very fun little car! At no time did I feel any unwelcome pressure from Mr. Omboga to purchase, but he gave his honest opinion, highlighted the fact that the Rio was new, vs. the used car. He was friendly, professional, and had endless patience. He offered me bottled water, answered all my questions, and seemed genuinely concerned that I make the right choice for me. And, I feel that I did, thanks to his salesmanship and patience. I would not hesitate to recommend Mr. Omboga to any of my friends who are interested in purchasing a car from Shawnee Mission Kia. I visited Kia on a Saturday so naturally it was busy, still I was greeted by a sales member shortly after pulling in. The building itself is small and cramped but the atmosphere was decent- a lot of action with mostly friendly people. Our salesman, Thomson Omboga, was attentive but not pushy. He quickly offered to let us drive a car and let me do most of the talking while answering questions I wanted to know. The process moved along fairly quickly, that is until we were ready to sit with financing, still Omboga generally waited around with us, offered us drinks and talked with us until we finally got into the financing office. All in all it was a fine experience. I knew what I wanted, wasn't pressured into upgrades or more expensive models. I would recommend anyone to visit Shawnee Mission Kia and give their cars and Thomson a chance to win you over too. More
