Everything was fine until I picked up the car and drove it home. About 2 miles from the dealership the low coolant alarm came on. I drove it the final mile to my home and the high engine temperature a it home. About 2 miles from the dealership the low coolant alarm came on. I drove it the final mile to my home and the high engine temperature alarm came on. I parked the car and noticed some steam (not a lot) coming from under the hood. I opened the hot and coolant was all over the engine. At first I thought a hose failed, but I then observed that the cap to the overflow reservoir was missing. I found the cap sitting on top of the engine manifold. After letting the system cool, I replenished the cooling system with new coolant, replaced the cap and the system has worked fine since. Good thing I didn't decide to drive downtown after picking up the car and finding myself stranded on the side of the highway. I will not be bringing my BMW back to BMW for servicing. I would not recommend having Santa Monica BMW service automobiles. More
