Overall, I had a good experience with Salerno Duane. I do want to note some issues, however. My transmission experienced a Power Transfer Unit problem which I initially reported to them on August 23, wi I do want to note some issues, however. My transmission experienced a Power Transfer Unit problem which I initially reported to them on August 23, with a code reading from another dealer to confirm the issue. Salerno Duane could not get me in for a diagnostic appointment until September 30 and told me parts were backordered to November (!!). I tried to wait for that appointment, but the car broke down on September 17, when I then had it towed in. At that point they took me in immediately, but it is unfortunate it had to come to that, as we already knew what the code and the problem was. The staff was friendly and patiently explained the issue to me, and also how to get compensated for a rental car, since they had a long waiting list for a loaner. (I have never gotten a loaner from Salerno Duane. I used to get one every time from the competitor Douglas across town). It was sometimes hard to communicate, and there was some confusion about when my car would be ready. Ultimately, the car was repaired under the power train warranty, and so far, seems to be running well. This is the second transmission failure I have had in 3 years: a Ford Escape failed at 70,000 miles, and my Jeep Cherokee 4x4 at 40,000. Disappointing. I want to add a shout out to General Service Manager Wanda Vargas Bosque. I was hopping mad the night the car broke down and no one was answering at the service desk. I have noticed that service rarely answers but sales ALWAYS does. Wanda communicated with me and made me feel heard at a time when I did not feel that way, and I really appreciated that. This is my second car purchased from Salerno Duane. I tend to buy certified pre-owned and service at the dealership. We will see if there will be a number 3... More
