With that being said, I believe that it is important to comment on how Toyota service has worsened throughout the recent years. I purchased my car at Route 22 Toyota but I have visited other locations such as Hudson Toyota and I can tell you the customer service at the Jersey City location is so much better. Getting someone on the phone at Rt 22 Toyota is simply impossible; nevertheless the main reason for this email is to comment on my ongoing unpleasant experience and dissatisfaction with the Toyota Service Center located on North Broad Street in Hillside, NJ. As of recently (at least past two years) all the service advisors/consultants seem to be under trained on how to deal with customers. Upon arrival many are on their cell phones, they do not seem happy to see you, some have an attitude and many do not explain products unless you ask how it works (i.e the exclusive benefits valuable rewards). I have repeatedly complained about some electrical issues with the locks of my doors and because the particular issue was not presenting at the moment, It was ignored. Eventually I came back expressing the same concern and that day I was lucky enough that my car decided not to fix itself for that day which allowed your staff see what I was reporting. Today 2/7/17 I am back because the maintenance light is on, I am not content with the brakes,my key seems to be in need of a new battery, and again the car seems to be having some electrical issues. Please note that my vehicle is from 2014 and is no where near 30,000 miles. This location's appearance can also benefit from some help. Staff claim that there is heat but it can't be felt. As a working mother who often lacks child care and bringing my child to this location is a strong possibilty. I am unsure of how comfortable I would be bringing my child to a service center where there is freezing temperature. Last but not least, not all outlets are operable, many cannot hold a phone charger, which is important if you are waiting for hours. Lets not forget that the staff at the part center can also benefit from some re-training. I can understand that this job may not be easy, for many this may be a paycheck and not necessarily a career but for customers like myself, I would like to leave feeling like all of my concerns were addressed and not dismissed. Furthermore, I would like to receive a personalized customer service, I would like to feel comfortable (warm) while waiting long hours, and be able to know that progress has been made on my car. I remember when this information was provided on one of the screen TV in the waiting area. Little things like these help ease the desire of wanting to leave and allow the customers to know what is the estimated wait time before the vehicle is ready. I also have to admit that I have experienced that not all customers are treated the same. I will not go into details but maybe doing some unannounced observation/supervision might serve as a benefit to this particular service center. Its unfortunate to say that I am considering returning this vehicle and buying another car outside of Toyota. As a child growing up, I remember my parents always talking about the quality of Toyota vehicles as someone who has been exposed to many of its models, it would be ashame for me to shop elsewhere. He went over & above to ensure I am well informed about the car I bought which served to get me excited about the car. My interaction with him was -still is- comfortable because of his personable & engaging style. Moreso, I still enjoy a solid after-sale-services from him. In a weird way I feel he is still trying to get me to buy a car!lol. More

Horrible, unprofessional! To summarize: they are horrible and extremely unprofessional. To expand: We went to Route 22 after we tried to work out a lease on a Corolla at T To summarize: they are horrible and extremely unprofessional. To expand: We went to Route 22 after we tried to work out a lease on a Corolla at Toyota Universe, which BTW, everyone there (at Toyota Universe) were super nice and extremely professional (we'll come back to them later...read on). We called Route 22 because my father once leased a car there and was hoping we'd qualify for discounts/rebates to be able to get a low priced lease, they told us over the phone to come over and that they could definitely offer a better deal than Toyota Universe could. So, foolish we believed them, and we went. Upon arrival, the desk and person greeting were nice (the only time I experienced "nice" here), and then we were introduced to the sales person who would take care of us, who greeted us chewing food with his mouth open, you know, like a professional does. Then, we said we had my old car to give/trade-in as down-payment. They took my cars information to appraise it and asked us to sit down, several minutes went by, until several minutes became 30 minutes, and I heard our sales person laughing away and having a conversation with a fellow co-worker, so I asked him if it'd be longer, and upon my complaint, the appraisal was magically finalized that very instant. I complained about the ridiculous wait and, I guess he's the floor manager, greeted me and my father, again super professional (sarcasm) and did not bring us over to a desk to sit, but rather had us standing with the papers on top of the hood of one of the cars there, as he offered us the very same deal Toyota Universe had offered! We reminded them that they said they could definitely offer something better, but they said it just wasn't possible. Mind you, they never sat us down, ran our credit, asked if we'd give anything down, nothing. Needless to say, my experience with the unprofessional personnel at Route 22 is enough to keep far from here forever. And please take my advice, do the same, stay away. I'm also reviewing Toyota Universe, feel free to check out my review for them (where I ended up getting my lease). My issue with Route 22 is not that I did not work out a deal, because I first went to Wayne Mazda (I currently have a lease there, so I tried there hoping there'd be a good deal) and I went to Toyota Universe (which initially we couldn't agree on a deal), and in both visits, I was greeted by professionals, who took their time (instead of wasting my time) to talk everything over and see what could/couldn't be done. My only guess from the lack of professionalism and people skills at Route 22 Toyota is that they lack management and training. Again, stay away! More
