Service rep lies repeatedly I scheduled my 2016 Renegade fo service because it hesitated or stalls when going from A complete stop to starting- especially during turns. The car I scheduled my 2016 Renegade fo service because it hesitated or stalls when going from A complete stop to starting- especially during turns. The car is drivable but definitely question the safety of it. When I scheduled the appointment, I was told the dealership is very busy but if I wait until Wednesday to drop it off, it should settle down. I dropped the car off at 6pm Tuesday night so it would be seen first on Wednesday’s drop off list. I called the dealership at 2:00 on Wednesday to find out the status of the car. I spoke with my service rep, Mark. He told me the car hadn’t been looked at. He told me it was next on the line to be looked at and to call back. I called back at about 4:00 and he said the car went through the computer and nothing is wrong with it but it needed to be looked at again, driven and would need it at least until Thursday. I called on Thursday at 3:00 to check the status of the car. Mark told me that it was next on the line and the person looking at it was finishing up a car and then driving the Renegade and running through the computer again. Since the dealership closed at 6, I wanted to know if I would have the car back today or at least hear something. Mark assured me I would hear something today (Thursday) At 5:00 I had not heard anything so I drove to the dealership figuring I would pick up the car since it had been run through the computer twice. When I had arrived, Mark was gone for the evening and the car was not done. Steve helped me. He was kind and thankfully, honest. The car had never been run through the computer. It had never been looked at. He was given a sticky note from Mark to call me regarding the car but he had no information other than that. Steve had the car pulled up and run through the computer (to find it needed a software update which was done). 48 hours after dropping off the car, it was looked at for the first time but only because I showed up at the dealership. I specifically said to Mark, I understand you’re busy with the cold weather- if you can’t get to the car now, I will pick it up and bring it back in a week. Rather than tell me the truth- which is the car hasn’t been looked at and likely won’t be until Friday at Best, he lied to me. Repeatedly. And then left for the day rather than call me back. Steve was apologetic and kind but I won’t do business with this dealership as they support that unprofessional behavior that Mark demonstrated. I own or lease 3 Chrysler/Jeep products and will be in another new one within the next 6 months (depending on the outcome of the Renegade issues). We have driven Chrysler/Jeep solely for over 10 years. What a complete disappointment this trip was. As for the Renegade stalling and poor acceleration, it hasn’t stalled which is good- but it has come awfully close. It’s as if someone is blocking the gas line when you’re trying to accelerate. As I began to look into these issues online, I have learned this is a common theme with the 2016 Renegade: one that Jeep has not addressed yet other than with the software update. It is an accident waiting to happen but a documented one which leaves Chrysler/Jeep quite liable in my opinion. That is an issue bigger than this dealership, obviously, but nonetheless, I will not be returning. Thank you to Steve for getting me out of there as fast as you could. More
