Recently moved to the area. My Buick was leaking a little transmission fluid (small patches of red fluid under the parked car after a drive) and idling ragged at stop lights. Since I've driven Buicks all my life, I've been looking for a "home" dealership for service, parts, and new/used vehicles. Not this one -- they didn't act at all interested in a new customer from the start. I made a service appointment for Monday morning at 8:30 am, completed the online info form, wrote the same details on the key envelope, then dropped the car and keys off the night before. Didn't hear a peep from Brogden's either Monday or Tuesday--no call, no voice message, no text. I tried to check the status online through their website, but got error messages that their online customer portal wasn't working. Finally I called Tuesday at 4:30 pm to find out what the status of the service diagnosis was. Was told that Brogden's couldn't find a problem with the idle or a transmission fluid leak -- but they wanted to do over $1,800 worth of repairs to the engine oil system, and were charging me $230 for this "diagnosis," despite the fact the car never leaked oil, smelled of burnt oil, or ever had to have oil added between regular oil changes. I reluctantly paid the "diagnosis" charges and took my car on down the road. I won't be back, and I'm still on the hunt for a local dealership to purchase vehicles, parts and service from. More
