Worst. Service. Ever. My advice is to avoid this place. Long story short, they misdiagnosed an issue with my car...charged me $450 to "fix" it...TRIED to charge me another $2,000 to perform additional work (which would have been unnecessary), which I declined...and, as it turns out, had missed "probably THE most obvious cause of that issue", according to a reputable BMW dealer up north, who charged me only $120 total to fix it properly. "Service" Manager Rob Moore promised me - three times - that he'd send me half of my $450 back. (Why not the whole thing? Who the xxxx knows.) Still no refund. It's now been nine weeks since I took my car there. I hate dealing with service organizations who provide such horrendous service and then make up for it by lying. More
I purchased a BMW 750 last month from Chris Compton at Rick Hendrick BMW in Charleston SC. I was having a very hard time finding the perfect car that fit all my unique requirements. I almost gave up. I gave Chris a challenge as I had asked for specifics such as: Price, Mileage, Features, Color, Style, Make, Model, Condition, Sound Package, Rim Size etc. The first car Chris showed me was the one I ended up purchasing from him. Chris Compton's enthusiasm about BMW and their quality of service the dealership provides sold me instantly. Chris spent quality time with me and made me feel a part of the BMW family. Overall, the level of service from Chris Compton and other staff members was fantastic! The presale, during sale and post-sale communication was spot on and I wouldn't have asked for anything to be any different. We plan to buy a X5 or X6 in the next year or two and Chris will be the first call I make, as I know he will not disappoint. Thank you for having such a wonderful group of employees. I look forward to our next BMW soon. More

From the very beginning, the service at Rick Hendrick BMW of Charleston was great: As an "out-of-town" buyer, Stephen Clinch (dealer), took high resolution pictures as if he were buying the car. He was spot on with the images, getting all the major stuff and the significant minor stuff. Additionally, he was in touch with me on a daily basis- Again, all before any sort of commitment to buy the vehicle! After flying down to take a look at the car, Stephen picked me from the airport in the prospective car, allowing me to drive back to the dealership. After a long day, and the expectation the deal would be delayed over night, Stephen was willing to drive me out to Charleston AFB for the night. Of all my car buying experiences, Rick Hendrick BMW, especially Stephen Clinch, really pulled out the stops on customer service. Taisma was an excellent representative for Rick Hendrick BMW. She kept me updated on the status of our repair and worked dilligently to make sure the repair was done properly. We were having our satellite BMW. She kept me updated on the status of our repair and worked dilligently to make sure the repair was done properly. We were having our satellite radio repaired which required removing the roof lining. The hunmidity was too high because of torrential rains. Taisma kept our vehicle and continued to provide us with a loaner despite the dealership incurring the extra downtime of being able to use the loaner vehicle. On a side note - the 328i loaner vehicle was an excellent and fun ride! I would not have expected that since my normal vehicle is an X5. More

Best car buying experience ever- my daughter has wanted a BMW for years and took the plunge this year at Hendrick BMW -Mary Claire was her sales person and I (mother) was with her. I have been back with the car for some things to be checked and everyone has been wonderful. We are from California and never had any one there treat us this well. We will be sending friends and family to them -even suggesting they come here to buy instead of their home towns! More

From the salesperson, Thomas Heater to the finance department and finally the service department where delivery of top-n the highest quality to date. Once again Rick Hendrick BMW comes up very short in customer service, after some sales issues on my purchase 4 years (no manual, scratch on delivery, dirty with water marks all over, and delays). I ha customer service, after some sales issues on my purchase 4 years (no manual, scratch on delivery, dirty with water marks all over, and delays). I had told my-self never again would I go to such a dealer but after being persuaded I tried and purchased a Honda odyssey elite with great service from start to finish (2012). Thinking that Rick Hendrick fixed their service/sales issues and ignoring the already low client rating, I would give them a try once again. First I replied to an email from Mary Claire Hamrick with a few question but after 7 days no reply, and honestly that was just fine as things didn’t close well prior so, move on to another sales person. Things were looking good with David G. (nice guy) and moved to forward to the numbers, of course the perfect deal numbers were not given right away and compromise was going to be needed; on to the negotiations we started. As I was looking at 2 vehicles to keep options open in an effort to get the best deal/discount there was some extra back and forth. I do wish I could remember the guys name that was assisting David, someone in the finance area I guess. Well this is the guy that shocked me as I have never been so insulted in the purchase of a vehicle (I usually purchased one every 1.5 – 2 years so I have done a few). First he told me that the money factor of .00165 is 2.69%, I quickly asked “isn’t the factor multiplied by 2400 to get the percentage?” I never did get the final answer as he turned and started typing into the computer, what looked like to be running some numbers. Then proceed to inquire on the base price of the vehicle (48,785) and then number offered (46,985) which he replied with these numbers. I stated to him that was a low number to reduce a car that is a 2012 model, demo, 160 miles on it, what is that like $1,500? this is at which time he sat back in his chair looked straight me and said “Well I don’t know what you are missing here” this statement coming after a couple other statements “this is just too much car for you”. The too much car statement I let go; took with a grain as I wanted to come to terms. The other statement was a complete insult like I couldn’t understand the conversation, or numbers being spoken, well this did it for me I was out. I stated the conversation was over but he continued to them mark the numbers on paper so I could see them, well they were almost the same. You can do the calculations from above; I off by a few hundred. I stated to him the statement he made was uncalled for and the conversation was over, followed by requesting the key back for my vehicle. He kept marking numbers on the pad with his head down writing, not looking up stated to David ok go get his key. Thought that was a strange that he had to provide permission for me to get my key back but I was done and walked to the front door. For a luxury car dealership, one would expect service and not to be tread in such a manor ever, even if someone were to mix up numbers. It’s really a shame that this dealership is blind to the actions of some staff here, as they are the only dealer in town for BMW and cornered the market. Off to Columbia for me….. More
