My wife and I just purchased our FIRST never before pre-owned absolutely new car from the wonderful people at Ramsey Subaru and we couldn't be happier. We wanted a safe and affordable car that would be enjoyable to drive but also handle the winters here (past year notwithstanding) as well as last us a long time. Based on the reviews and Consumer Reports ratings we felt a Subaru was the way to go. We shopped around at most of the area Subaru dealers and I have to say the folks at Ramsey are top notch. We went in to look at cars there 3 separate times, took test drives on two different models, and every time we were met with patience and friendliness and never felt like we were being pressured into making a deal. Our salesperson Chris Wallin was the shining jewel for us. No matter how busy the place was or how many new potential customers were walking in the door he never rushed us. He listened to all our questions and if he didn't know the answer (which was rare) he took the time to find out. When we finally did get to the negotiations on price, we had in mind a number we wanted to spend based on our research and the current available offers, and Chris worked with us in the most professional way to help us get there. On the day we came to pay for and pick up our new car the minute we walked in the door Chris handed us our keys and told us to go and take a look at it. We were then expertly guided through the financing and payment process by Shane and once the paperwork was out of the way Chris took over going through all the in's and out's of the new car. Chris then took the time to introduce us to Al in the service department, where they have some great deals on oil changes and other service items, and where we'll be going for all our oil change's and servicing needs. As we left Chris made sure we knew that if we ever had any questions to just reach out to him and he'll be happy to help us. The people at Ramsey Subaru did everything right to earn our business and trust and I don't think anyone could go wrong buying or servicing their car there. More
Brian was friendly and knowledgable about the Subaru we were interested in. When an issue came up about my MVC documents, he got me the answer promptly. The subaru was taken in for normal 30,000 mile service. The service department forgot to close the radiator cap, and destroyed the engine of a 2011 Subaru that previously had no issues. The dealership was extremely pleasant and had the vehicle I was looking for. Although I did not purchase a Subaru, my salesperson Dayton was very helpful and informative. Update: Received phone call from Jim Conroy from the Ramsey Auto Group who listened to my issues and discussed with the Ramsey Subaru team. Didn't get me the car I ordered on time, but very good to see that the Ramsey group does take customer service seriously even though some individuals in their organization do not (1 individual partially responsible no longer works at the dealer). Original Message: Do not recommend Ramsey Subaru if you are ordering a car. Their integrity and customer service are the worst of any new car dealer I have used (purchased about 8 other new cars) Used Truecar.com and Ramsey had the lowest price on an Impreza Sport Limited within 200 miles of my home in PA. Local dealers were about $1k more. I contacted Clayton and order the car from him on Dec 2nd 20111, and was told it would be 6-8 weeks until delivery. On Jan 12th I asked when it would be in and was told "it should hopefully be filled on our next allocation in 2 weeks". On Jan 20th, I contact Josh who told me he had no updates and would get his allocation in about a week. On Jan 30th after I e-mailed him he said he had no info and I could call the 1-800 number. I then heard from John and communicated with him as well as Josh. Sometime in early Feb or so John told me that another customer and I had the same VIN for a Sport Limited delivered to Ramsey. Josh mentioned nothing of this and can only imagine that they gave it to another customer that walked in and paid more. I was pissed, but since that model was not available at any dealer decided to wait for the next one. I was then told by John and confirmed by Josh that a Limited had come in for me instead of the Sport Limited. I have never heard of a dealer ordering the wrong model and the paperwork I had was clear. Josh had no good answers and said they could lower the price by $500 which was the difference in vehicle costs (MSRP difference on the Subaru site is $1,000). I asked for another $200 off and was told they could sell it to anybody coming in for a higher price. I finally picked up the car in early April (couldn't be a Saturday which I requested and only Jerry could do the delivery paperwork) and went relatively smooth. Neither Josh or anybody else apologized, but Josh was big enough to throw in a maybe $10 small Subaru first aid kid. Fortunately John from the National office was more concerned with Subaru's reputations and for integrity since they compensated me with an extended warranty plan. Would not buy from Ramsey ever again even if I had to pay more elsewhere. They can not be trusted and I constantly had to ask them for updates. They also appeared to have sold two cars that should have been mine and turned a 6-8 week estimate into twice that. More
I used the internet to reach out to local dealers for my new Forester. Clayton called me the very same day and got all my information. I went to speak with Shane and the lease was set up and I had my new car in 20 minutes. Clayton went over all the instructions with me and I was driving home in a total of 30 minutes. EXCELLENT experience...I will continue to buy my cars from Ramsey Subaru. They are a 10/10 dealership...I will recommend them to everyone. Thanks again Clayton and Shane...I LOVE my car. Ramsey Subaru gave us a price $1200 lower than the other we had been quoted. Dayton Lau, our salesman was meticulous in dealing with the details of transferring plates and registration from our previous car. In the four days before we picked up the car he sent numerous clear and detailed e-mails to confirm responses to my questions, and was always friendly and available by phone. There was only one day this week that we could pick up the car, and Dayton came in to the dealership on his day off to make that possible. Thanks Dayton! More
