The car was returned very dirty. I did not accept the car until they cleaned it? It looked like someone dropped something on the drivers side floor matt and left it. I showed the women at the desk. I brought my car in without an appointment because I kept losing pressure in one of the tires. They were very accommodating and took my car without any questions asked. For a simple oil change, only Rallye Motors can messed it up. I found out 2 days later on the work order, they put in 9 (NINE) quarts of Diesel rated oil in my c300 4matic. I left 2 voice message to my servi up. I found out 2 days later on the work order, they put in 9 (NINE) quarts of Diesel rated oil in my c300 4matic. I left 2 voice message to my service adviser, no called back. I left 2 email to the service and general managers and no reply. I ended up to call Mercedes Benz North America to help. I want to be sure no damage was done to the engine.. BTW, this is the SECOND time it happened. When I took delivery of the car, it was overfilled. The service adviser said "As long as the oil light doesn't come on, it will be fine". 1 - The oil light is warning for low level, not when it is over" 2 - The adviser has no idea how quarts of oil the car take. He said it took 8 quarts. On a 4matic, it take 7.4 quarts. On a regular RWD , it takes 8. They are 2 for 2 so far.. I am really afraid to take my car(S) to them for service... If I were you, I will make sure they show you the dipstick level before they take the car back from them. More
First off, I was bringing my 2008 Mercedes Benz GL 500 in for service, as recently hurricane sandy was among us in long island causing lots of damage to the streets and houses. So as I was driving, my air matic / suspension light came on the car. As soon as that happened I called up rallye to schedule an appointment to have the car checked out, but since they were out of power for two weeks, who knows when it was going to be serviced, but I was advised not to drive it and have it towed there. As soon as they said that I took the car home and kept it in the garage since I only live 3 minutes away from the dealer. After about a week I called again and ask to get an appointment in as I was needing a car soon to get to work. Finally they were operating minimally with generators and took my car in and gave me a loaner. After a day or two of diagnosing the problem, I get a call from Rob Carlson my service adviser regarding the problem of the car. He said that the front struts/pumps failed and they needed to be replaced, that's why the light came on and the car was riding very low. So I said it should be covered under warranty right? He said no, your warranty expired back in February of this year (2012). I said I never ever had any warranty claims on this car or signifacant work done on this car, just basic maintenance paid out of pocket. So he said it would cost $4300...my jaw dropped I mean I understand if it was $1000 or so plus labor. Then after hearing my reaction, he said that since we were loyal customers and we purchased multiple cars from Rallye. They were willing to work it out with us, as we had no bad track record with large warrantied claims on parts. In then end, the dealer worked out a neutral price that we both agreed on, without any hassle. We will highly recommend them and we had another great experience there. More
This is my second Rallye MB car. I have been using your service dept for years. I have always been more than pleased with the service,quality of work and overall experience at Rallye. I have always had excellent professional service with Ken Vachris throughout these years. However, I was outraged to learn that a tear in the upholstery of my driver seat is NOT covered by my warranty. A MB product should not be tearing apart in the first place and if/when such a thing should happen I would expect it to be part of what is supposed to be a "premier" MB warranty. For that reason, I was generous in giving both "quality of work" and "overall experience" an OK....Truly "great" in every other aspect, but "very bad" in regard to this issue. FROM THE TIME I DROPPED MY VEHICLE OFF UNTIL MY SERVICE WAS COMPLETE, JOE WAS FANTASTIC. THE WHOLE STAFF WAS GREAT EVEN THE YOUNG LADY AT THE PAYMENT COUNTER. EVERYONE WAS EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE.
