She didn't like the new TT's, so I took her here to check out the Mazda Miata MX-5 RF Grand Touring. She immediately liked the lines, and after an extensive test drive, decided to get it. Dominic Chang worked with me on the pricing and we got a fair deal. Not a killer bargain, but was in the range I was willing to pay. She brought it home the same day. We were not pressured in any way by either Dominic or Raj, the finance guy. We opted for the prepaid maintenance package and extended warranty so that my MIL would have pain free service and peace of mind. More

The job took longer than expected and required the truck be left overnight, although that wasn't a big deal. A few days later I took the truck on a trip to Oregon. North of Sacramento, in the middle of nowhere, warning lights and chimes began going off incessantly. They stated, "coolant low". I stopped on the side of the interstate to see if there was anything that could be done. I could not confidently identify the coolant reservoir under the hood, and I found the user manual completely useless. Thank god for U-Tube - I found a video made by another RAM owner (equally frustrated I'm sure) that clearly shows where the coolant reservoir is. I also realized that I was lucky to have cell service. I could see that the reservoir was very low. Standing on the side of the freeway I was rather irked that the dealership had not bothered to refill the reservoir. After searching online for the proper coolant, Organic Acid Technology AKA OAT, I found that it was only available at dealerships. Use of anything else voids the warranty, and retail automotive stores do not carry it. I had a choice of waiting 4 hours for the closest dealership (100 miles the wrong way) to open, or continue driving. The engine temperature gauge read below the midpoint so the engine was not running hot. I elected to continue driving and planned to go to the Dodge dealership in Medford OR that afternoon, with the alarm chimes providing musical accompaniment for the remaining 4 hours. I found why they didn't refill the reservoir ... that OAT coolant is $36.00 per gallon. Fortunately Oregon does not have sales tax. The stuff comes as a concentrate, so I had to go the the grocery store to duy a gallon of distilled water to make the proper 50/50 mix. I mixed it and refilled the reservoir in the grocery store's parking lot. A simple task can be difficult when you aren't at home. So far Putnam is the best dealership that I have dealt with in my area, but I am sorely disappointed at their oversight. I am still unsure if this was negligence or just an effort to save a few bucks. Either way, it left me in a potentially problematic situation. Will I go back? Probably, but only because I can walk from home. More

Also wanted to know why my car no longer chimed when I left my lights on at night while exiting car. My service rep and mechanics checked the car out and found nothing wrong, thank goodness! Sandino, showed me how the tire application works and also pointed out to me how the lighting and sound warning system works. The car is in great shape - I'm the one who needs to "do my homework". Thanks Mazda, I love my car and I love the service people at Putnam Mazda! More
