At Proctor Subaru, business is serious stuff. My Husband and I live out-of-state and we were both skeptical at first about driving 3-4 hours to this dealership, not getting good service, or possibly being r and I live out-of-state and we were both skeptical at first about driving 3-4 hours to this dealership, not getting good service, or possibly being ripped off even though a deal had been made over the phone about the price of a new car they had. So be it, we took the risk and I drove my husband down there, hoping it would turn out good. Sure enough, the car we wanted was parked right at the front door of the building and we just KNEW they were waiting on us to come get it! Before we walked in the front door, Abel walked out and immediately knew who we were even though he had NEVER met us before. Business with Abel was by far the most easy going experience ever at a dealership. Even better, the guy owns a Subaru vehicle himself, so he knows about Subaru cars and he isn't the typical dealer who would usually push hard to sell a vehicle that they don't know anything about or have never owned. Abel knew about Subaru personally and that helps a lot knowing that you're getting good advice and input from another Subaru owner that isn't just a guy who sells them. If you needed a little brushing up on driving a manual car again before you bought a manual wrx from him, he would teach you in a hard beat with patience. He helped us set up our bluetooth system in the car before we took it home which was convenient to use on the way back home! Abel is a fantastic person to do business with- he had given us his number and told us if we needed any help or guidance instead of flipping through that massively novel-sized car manual, he would have an answer for whatever it was we needed solved. At Proctor Subaru, we got spoiled good. I enjoyed the visit and I bet those who work there enjoy it as well. Very friendly environment, so much to see, so nice and during the heat of the day, their building's air conditioner has no chance of letting you get hot while indoors! Proctor Subaru is constantly keeping in touch with us (not through the phone- but through mail and email) to see how our new Subaru is treating us. I'm very pleased with Proctor Subaru and would drive 600+ to and from home just to get another car from them. If you live far away, I highly doubt you'll regret driving over to see them and see what they can do for you. Give them a chance and even if you have other dealerships in mind, I'm confident enough to say that you'll probably end up going to Proctor Subaru in the end for the best service ever. The Subaru was great car to drive especially when I had to make an emergency trip to the North Georgia mountains during a heavy snow storm and the Subaru ticked along without problems. Last week I visited Ron again at Proctor's and bought a second Subaru Outback and again was impressed with the dealership's staff and their helpfulness. Ron was very helpful, demonstrating every feature of the new car before I left the lot and making sure all went smoothly. All the staff was friendly and helpful making the purchase a good experience. I've been a Proctor's customer for 25 years and have always been pleased with all aspects of their service and don't plan to make any changes in the future. More
I purchased my first car from Subaru two years ago, and it was a wonderful experience. Jim Lutz is a very friendly service manager and is always there early. When my '97 Impreza needed to be in the shop for over a week he loaned me their new Outback, when I am used to riding my bicycle when m there early. Also, I VERY much appreciate Proctor Subaru hiring the fabulous mechanic Mark from the former Subaru dealership in Tallahassee which had to close its doors. He was already quite familiar with my car. This is the top-rated Subaru dealership in the entire Southeast, and I had to drive 4 1/2 hours each way to work with the dealership. Let me say, they made it well worth my while. I had the opportunity to work with Abel Correa, who is a very professional as well as personable employee of Proctor Subaru. He spent a lot of time with me on the phone answering questions about my car, and made sure I had as much information as was available on the car's service records, previous owner, and so on. He's really top notch: can't recommend him highly enough. The rest of the team was fantastic as well. When it came down to all the paperwork that goes along with car-buying, they really expedited the service. It wasn't like another dealership we've worked with in the past, where you're there for 3 hours while they process the paperwork and loan information. The Proctor team even made several calls to my bank to verify information about the loan I had. They also promptly sent the information about the car to my local tag office, and they got all the loan paperwork to my bank in a very timely fashion. Wish every used car buying experience I've had was this good!! I've had my Subaru for two weeks now, and I love it. It's a great quality car, I get lots of compliments on it, and it's awesome to drive around town. No mechanical problems, and if there ever are I love that it has the whole Certified Pre-Owned deal to go with it. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Abel Correa two weeks ago, when we went down to look at a gorgeous "new-to-us" 2010 Subaru Outback 2.5i Premium. I had a ton of questions about the car initially, and so when I saw it online I immediately put my phone# in the form to get more info. Abel called me in about 10 seconds flat, which was a record, since I'd been hunting around for a used Outback and had contacted several other dealerships. He was knowledgeable and informative, and he had a lot of details about the car that impressed me. He knew who the car's previous owner was, how she drove the car, and so on. When I later asked him for detailed service records, he did a lot of extra work and tracked them down for me (fortunately, the car had been serviced at Proctor). He did all this, before I'd even made it down to see the car in-person. Because the dealership was about 4 1/2 hours from home, I was really hoping the sale would work out. When we arrived at the dealership, Abel met us at the door. We immediately took the car out for a long test drive. The Outback was in excellent condition, as described, and it looked the same in-person as it did in the pictures online. We were able to negotiate a very fair price on the car, especially since it was Certified Pre-Owned. This especially impressed me, since a lot of the other CPO Subarus in the southeast are ridiculously overpriced. The representative at my bank, who handled my loan paperwork, was even impressed with the fair price we received on the car. Abel was available to us from the moment we walked in the door, to the minute we walked out with the keys. He helped us expedite our paperwork, and made several calls to our bank to clear up some things about our bank-financed loan. He offered us snacks and water, and generally made sure we were comfortable throughout our visit to Proctor. Let me add that I always thoroughly research businesses before I work with them. I'm grateful to Dealerrater.com for pointing me towards Proctor Subaru! It's sometimes difficult to find honest reviews about businesses (particularly car dealerships) but the ones at this forum are accurate and fair. Thanks again to Abel for a great experience. More
We just purchased a 2012 Outback 3.6R Limited from Proctor. Frank and Charlie worked with us and helped us choose one in transit so we could get the color my wife and I wanted. When the Outback arrived it got held up for a recall for a couple of days and had a very small scratch in the clearcoat, Frank and Charlie were great at getting all worked out very quickly and to perfection. The dealership is very nice and very clean with plenty of free refreshments. The restrooms are always very clean. Also a dog friendly dealership. Everyone is very nice and a great dealship to purchase a Subaru from. We will be going back when we are ready to trade again. More
