As a customer of Park Avenue Acura for the past decade, the service and attention following my purchase of a certified pre-owned car a little more than one year ago turned out to be rather disappointing. I the service and attention following my purchase of a certified pre-owned car a little more than one year ago turned out to be rather disappointing. In particular, there were some issues with the car that ended-up being simple mechanical fixes, but it was tough to find someone at the dealership who was willing to take the level of responsibility one would assume there would be with the purchase of an Acura. Don't get me wrong: most of the people at Park Avenue are kind and personable--and those in the service department are even more so. But, after several months (and several hundred dollars out of my pocket), the car went into service several times for a recurring problem and nothing seemed to resolve the issue. During some of this period, the dealership was without a Service & Parts Director and waiting on the arrival someone to take the position. But that all seems to be in the past. On my latest visit for the same issue, Kirk Quinones, the new Service & Parts Director, flagged the service and offered to take a ride in the car with me to try to determine what was going on. He immediately identified what he thought was the problem and personally managed the entire range of service on it. His assumption turned out to be correct and the problem no longer really persists. But what impressed me even more than his getting the problem licked is that, while waiting for the repair to be completed, he listened to me talk about my disappointment with the prior service, expressed his irritation with the prior treatment, and then discussed what might be done to increase my level of satisfaction with the dealership and the service department. Then, Kirk took the car for another test drive (with me and the mechanic) to ensure that things sounded and felt right. Now, driving the care feels the way it is supposed to. Based on ten years-plus of experience with Park Avenue Acura, it seems that the customer service problems related to my car were a departure from the norm and that the ownership realized other customers might have been having similar issues. This has to be the case because there is a different feeling in the service department now that Kirk Quinones is there. Also, it doesn't hurt that the owner's "right hand" has been in touch with me to understand the details of everything that has happened with the car since it was purchased and to determine what could be done to "make things right." Ultimately, it is a comfort to know that Park Avenue Acura is still up to providing the kind of customer service that will keep me going back. *****UPDATE: Kirk Quinones picked-up the chord on behalf of Park Avenue Acura. After reviewing what must be every detail related to service since my purchase of the vehicle, he offered a substantial credit to be used in the Parts & Service department at the dealership. As important, he also offered the sense that things never should have reached this point in the first place and assurance that the dealership would do what is needed in the interest of keeping me as a customer going forward. Kirk is a class act. He is honest, thorough, and clearly does not take customers for granted. So long as he is there, Park Avenue will have my business. More

We recently purchased a 2012 Acura MDX from Dan at Park Ave Acura. We have always driven Audi's and Mercedes', so this was our first experience with an Acura. So far, we could not be happier with our deci Ave Acura. We have always driven Audi's and Mercedes', so this was our first experience with an Acura. So far, we could not be happier with our decision. Without question, Dan made this the best car buying experience in comparison. He was incredibly knowledgeable about the car and an absolute pleasure to work with. Some dealers have a bias towards their product and often don't listen to your needs etc...simply to make a sale. Dan is not that type. He is completely honest and transparent, and will let you make all decisions instead of forcing you into a decision. After purchasing the vehicle, Dan spent nearly an hour with my wife in the car going over every single detail. He can field any question you throw at him about the engine, braking, options...you name it. I highly recommend contacting Dan if you are in the market for a car. More

Went to Park Ave Acura on 11/25/11 for an '08 Certified Pre-Owned TL I saw on their website. Happened to meet Curt Lewis first thing, told him what I wanted to see & test drive, and within 5-6 minutes was Pre-Owned TL I saw on their website. Happened to meet Curt Lewis first thing, told him what I wanted to see & test drive, and within 5-6 minutes was in the car. He explained all of the features to me, answered my questions, and when we got back to the showroom, we started talking numbers. Told him where I needed to be bottom line, got a decent number on my trade, and he was able to make that work. Within a little over an hour, I purchased my 'new' car. Went back next day to meet with Jorge Herrera, the Finance Mgr., who was very helpful and explained all of the paperwork I was about to sign, turned in my trade/keys/title, and I left with my Acura. A week later, my plates & registration were in, went back for Curt to put them on, and he said if I ever had any questions or problems, to give him a call. Since there was one year left on the original warranty, I decided to get the extended warranty service contract & gap insurance just as a precaution because, let's face it, you never know. Although it did bump up my car payment an extra $35 per month from my bottom line number, I figured I'd find a way to cut dollars somewhere else because in the long run, I feel it was worth it. If and when the time ever comes that I need to have the car serviced, I will write another review about the service dept. at that time. All in all, I love my 'new' Acura, and for one of the very few times since I have purchased vehicles, was very pleased with the whole car buying process in dealing with Curt and Park Ave Acura. I never once felt pressured, there were no gimmicks, no umpteem back-and-forth price haggling, and, what I loved the most, not having to spend a whole day stuck in a showroom playing the 'waiting' game. I was in-and-out in no time at all, treated with respect, and would definitely consider purchasing or leasing a new car from, or recommending others to, this dealer in the future. More

The first time my tire pressure signal went off, I took it to Park Ave to get it fixed. Over the phone, they told me it's probably just the temperature change or it may need some air so I should take it t it to Park Ave to get it fixed. Over the phone, they told me it's probably just the temperature change or it may need some air so I should take it to my mechanic. I did not feel comfortable doing that since I got my car not even a year ago and bought all warranties that come with it. Next day, they squeezed me in for a late appointment. I drove over there and was out in about 5 minutes. They said they balanced the pressures between the four tires and I should be good to go, no biggie. A couple of days later, the signal came up again on my dash board. I called Park Ave again and explained what happened before. They said they are all booked and don't have any appointments open (didn't even consider I was driving on a deflating tire). I agreed to leave the car with them all day while I'm at work and have them let me borrow a loaner. They suggested I get dropped off and picked up from work by their team. Works for me, no problem! I got a call from them late afternoon saying there's a nail in my tire and they can't patch it, so I'd need a new tire. No problem! I have tire warranty. Hmm, but wait, they don't have my tire and none of their dealers carry it either. So since every Acura is "independently owned", I would have to pick up my car and take to Montclair since that's where I bought it from. Maybe they can fix it. They suggested I can buy one of the tires they do carry, but it wouldn't match the others. Now I have to deal with Montclair to fix this issue. I am just so frustrated Park Ave didn't notify me the first time the issue came up. More
