Great customer service. Only issue is I was surprised of the cost. This is my first American car in 15 years and the cost of the service is much more than I’m use to. This review is difficult to write because it is not one that can be seen as positive, in any way. I have always believed that when there are issues or scheduled maintenence tasks, the dealership is the be that can be seen as positive, in any way. I have always believed that when there are issues or scheduled maintenence tasks, the dealership is the best service provider. Unfortunately I was proven wrong on many levels. I brought my used car to Chevrolet Novato when I was experiencing engine mishaps. That 1st visit proved to be positive, good customer service, issue seemed to be addressed. Satisfied completely! What I have come to understand, reviews should not be based on 1st time service or when purchasing a new car, those are easy to rate positive. The real revelant review is after a couple of service appointments, the outcome and the service applied to the issues. I did all that was asked of me with maintenence and repaurs asthey came to light. Then what was happening, the repairs were ongoing and the issues never went away. Regularly a couple days following service, same issue or new issues were presented. Still allowing Chevrolet to address the new and ongoing issues, I finally had to stay stop. I wanted a reviw of all the service prior to bringing my car in again for issues that I felt made the car unsafe. The car woukd need to be jumped regularly and the computer system would shut down parts of the cars functions, to prevent damage to the engine. Sounds good but too many times and normally I would be getting on the highway when power would begin shutting down, resulting in the lock if the steering and loss of the ability to maintain speed while gettibg on the highway. Scared me to death a few times. Of course I reported all this and services were performed but then the issue would again happen with little new twists. Loss of headlights for a couple of days, then everything would be fine. Loss of inside dash lights, power shut offs and this causes a lock on the ability to remove the ignition keys. On and on, service, new issues that were unsafe to operate a car not to mention, completely undependable. Before service I contacted Service to speak with the Service Manager to have the department review all the service orders and perhaps figure out why the fixes were nit fixes and resulting in an unsafe car. Needless to say, Inever recieved a call back. My level of frustration was over the top. I trusted this Dealership to know their own cars and to be able to offer resolution and to communicate with me, the customer, desparately trying to find the solution by possibly researching over a time period not by one instance then another instance. Still trying to work with Novato Chevrolet, I emailed the owner, Steve Song. I was pleasanly surprised when he responded asking me to allow him to research my issues with his staff and to expect a call from him the following day. I was pleased that perhaps we could work together and service this car making it safe and dependable. I was wrong. That call never came and the reality that the owner could care less about my safety and the lack of professionalism of responding to a customer or having his staff to follow-up. I believe this says it all. Some of my issues were resolved by a tech from Big O tires when I replaced my tires during this time. Other concerns will be addressed but Novato Chevrolet is no longer my 1st option. The lack of care from the owner and his Management Staff put things in to perspective. I strongly advise against trusting this Dealership for working on your car, if only for the unsafe operation followiing service. More
