I was looking for an economical car back in 2000, so stopped by Northtown Hyunda-Subaru to look at the Hyunda Elantra and Subaru Impreza. I was working with Bob Rose, he was not very pleasant to deal w stopped by Northtown Hyunda-Subaru to look at the Hyunda Elantra and Subaru Impreza. I was working with Bob Rose, he was not very pleasant to deal with....tough to get straight answers from and always unavailable. When it came to making a deal, he started on the paperwork without even talking about the price! I had to stop him and tell him we have not talked about price and there is NO WAY I am paying MSRP on a car that has one of the worse resale values out there. It took a lot of haggling to finally come to an agreeable price. One the day of delivery, they were sending a shuttle to pick me up, the shuttle service took well over an hour to arrive, and the driver was inconsiderate, made a lot of remarks about the people walking around outside, it was uncomfortable feeling to for myself and the other passengers in the van. The paperwork at the dealership was never ending.. very long process. I was finally given the keys and drove home. The service department is an absolute nightmare. In the first year or two of ownership, oil changes were 19.95, which included oil and oil filter change, top off all fluids, and change tire pressure.. in the last few years, the price has gone up, and they no longer check or change tired pressure and they dont top off fluids. The current rate is somewhere around 29.95. In the beginning it would take 45 minutes for an oil change, but now it takes me around 1hr 30 min.. unacceptable. They have denied many warranty claims on my vehicle, but luckily had the TSB printed out showing them that there was a recall for a specific equipment on the car. Their estimates on regular scheduled maintenance was far off...a service that should take about 6 hours, took them over 24. The staff seems to be rather careless about the whole process.. and if you do service there LOOK over your the bill carefully.. they can add more than what they say they are going to do. Unfortunately if you are looking for a Hyundai, you are almost stuck with Northtown. Its not that Northtown Hyunda is bad, its that ALL their dealership chains are bad. Most locals in the Buffalo area will have the same exhausting experience with the Northtown chain. More
