They lied to me and admitted it. I understand in negotiations when dealing with car dealerships there is a certain amount of fudging the truth. We went together and met the sales manager and he introduced us to one of the salesman. We decided to purchase a Nissan Sentra for the low payments and vehicle reputation. Before we left the salesman made sure we knew just as much as he did about the vehicle. My grandson loves his new car and we couldn't be happier. Thank you. More
I bought a 2011 Altima from this dealership on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, still under factory warranty with only 31,000 miles on it. On Friday, April 27, 2012 my brakes started squealing so I called and told April 25, 2012, still under factory warranty with only 31,000 miles on it. On Friday, April 27, 2012 my brakes started squealing so I called and told them about it. Took it back in on Saturday, April 28, 2012 and was told by the Service Department Manager that I would have to pay $250 to have the brakes fixed. I said no because I just bought the car three days ago. Well after two weeks of back and forth, they finally fixed the brakes. In the meantime, I also talked to them about the fact that I only got one key to the car and was told that they could contact the previous owner and find out if the he or she still had the other key. I finally called back again on Thursday, May 17th to find out who the general manager is and was told that his name is Todd. Well I called Todd on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and again Monday, May 21st leaving messages each time but of course I have never talked to Todd because he's always in a meeting. I finally talked to someone else and was informed that I would have to pay $200 for a new key to be given to me for my car because this is the dealership's policy. None of this makes any sense to me. This is the sorriest dealership I have ever encountered. Even buy here pay here dealerships give you a second key free of charge. Nissan of St. Augustine seems to go out of their way to make you pay more money for the things you need for your vehicle and it doesn't matter to them if it's bad business. I cannot recommend this dealership to anyone and neither should anyone else. If you really want a Nissan, find another dealership and avoid Nissan of St. Augustine. More
Extremely nasty experience. The dealership advertised lease special was beyond misleading...it was false. An advertised "sign and drive" deal turned into a large cap cost reduction required. This dealership demonstated the typical con games so often representative of car dealerships. More
Bought a used car from Nissan of St. Augustine. First dealt with the internet sales manager, who quoted me a price then retracted it when I drove the 45 miles to visit the lot. She also overstated the qu dealt with the internet sales manager, who quoted me a price then retracted it when I drove the 45 miles to visit the lot. She also overstated the quality of the car, it had visible dents and one other defect. After listening to their high pressure pitch, they kept telling me if it wasn't bought that day they would send it to auction. Unfortunately I was honest and explained to them that I needed a car almost immediately. They eventually came down to the original asking price and before I accepted it I wanted to take another test drive, when I did the check engine light came on. In the contract I made fixing the issue with the check engine light a deliverable. The next day when I picked up the car the check engine light was off. I drove off the lot and got about .5 miles and the check engine light came on and the care started to overheat. I brought it back to the dealership and they initially refused to repair it because I drove it off the lot. I showed them the contract and they relented. I returned the next day and the same thing happened except this time i had to have them tow it back because it was so overheated. I tried to execute the lemon law exemption but they said it was too late, even though the dealership had it for the 72 hours. It was a terrible experience and I don't recommend them to anyone. More
This is the type of dealership that gave used car dealers a bad name, capital “S” shady. I saw a car on craigslist and called. First I was told$ 22,000 on a 2010, than it went to $25,000; then they offered m a bad name, capital “S” shady. I saw a car on craigslist and called. First I was told$ 22,000 on a 2010, than it went to $25,000; then they offered me a 2009 for 20,900 and told me, “we just got it on the lot and it is super clean”. They said it was so new they didn’t even have it posted to the web site yet. So, like a sucker, I drove an hour to St .Augustine. Turns out they had the car for 4+ months and had not been able to sucker someone onto buying it yet. The CARFAX had not one, but two accidents. And it was a hot mess: burn holes all over the interior, body damage from “the minor accident” with lots of over spray, and an unacceptable amount of scraps and dings. Also it was on the website all along, only with stock photos instead of the real vehicle. At the end of the night, I wasted by time and a lot of gas to St. Augustine. Realistically, had they just come clean and sold the car at a price that reflected its condition, I may have considered it. But clearly this dealership is trying to take advantage of people that won’t do the research. I knew I should have suspected something when they were not registered with the BBB. If you buy here do your homework and see it in writing. I drove back home and bought from a reputable dealer, paid less, and got a pristine car. More
GREAT CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE! This was the second best car buying experience ever for me only because it took about 1hr and 45 minutes vice the 1 hr on a previous purchase. From start to finish it was very ea buying experience ever for me only because it took about 1hr and 45 minutes vice the 1 hr on a previous purchase. From start to finish it was very easy. I used USAA car buying service, military bank, and there was no need for negotiation even on my trade. I got the truck I wanted and they got a happy customer. Much better service than Coggin Nissan on Atlantic. You cannot beat a lifetime powertrain warranty either. Sam More
Where do I start? Ok,I took my car to the dealership because I had a check engine light on. Phillip greeted me and asked me what was going on with the car. My car was running fine but the light was on. because I had a check engine light on. Phillip greeted me and asked me what was going on with the car. My car was running fine but the light was on. After one hour (I had an appointment), Phillip came to me and said the problem was a catalytic converter. I asked him do I need to take care of this today and he said it will do a lot of damage to the car if I didn't do it right away. I said then lets do it. Phillip said it would cost $932 and I had to pay this before he can order the parts. I paid the $932, I thought the price was a little high but this was a dealership with factory parts. As I was paying the money the woman told me that the total was going to be $1200. I asked why so much and she said that the original price did not include the labor. She said I could pay for just the parts. I went back to Phillip and asked him about the extra cost. His answer to me was they do not include labor when they give an estimate. Before I left the dealership, I decided to get a second opinion. I asked for my money back and I was told there would be some fees and I would only be getting $827 back. At this point I was not happy at all. I went to the service manager and he told me that there was some charges for diagnostic purposes. He pretty much blew me off. I left the dealership with a sour taste in my mouth. I brought my car to a local repair shop and I was told that there was a bulletin out that said, to update the ecm before you replace the converter. At this point I called the owner of the dealership (who was very nice), he told me that the service manager would call me back. When the service manger got back to me I asked him about the update and he told me that they always do the update after the converter was installed. The bulletin in question says that you must update the ecm before the work was done. And most cases the problem will be fixed. I took my car to Coggin at the Avenues and the service manager told me that the update was performed, and my car was fixed. I saved over $1200 because they did what was supposed to be done. The moral of the story is "Stay away from this dealership at all costs". More
Purchased a 2008 Nissan altima, sales representative David Aiken advised us after checking with his manager there was 2 months left on the bumper to bumper warranty. 2 weeks later noticed a couple of is David Aiken advised us after checking with his manager there was 2 months left on the bumper to bumper warranty. 2 weeks later noticed a couple of issues, and returned to the dealership & was advised they made a mistake and would not honor it. Then claimed they never said there was a warranty. Mistakes happen I realize that, but in this case these were relatively minor issues that needed to be resolved. This is dishonest and fraudulent misrepresentation to sell a car. Since I didn’t have the paperwork to back up this misrepresentation I agreed to go ahead and have the service work completed there. The service manager James Campanaro was very courteous and took the matter to the manager and reduced my bill by 50%. However I advise against buying anything at this dealership if you expect quality customer service. More
