When pushed The service dept. Repeatedly lied to me. On a design flaw on my car, where the recall had aged out- they told me "It could not be fixed". When pushed by Nissan Corporate- it could be fixed.. They lied and claimed the engine would have to come out in order to try fixing it - over 3,000 +, plus the actual repair. They stonewalling, stalled and Repeatedly lied. I had it towed out and taken to an honest, competent mechanic who fixed the problem with No engine removal for a small fraction of what these thieves asked. This total lack of morals, ethics and unprofessionalism could Not exist in an honest dealership ! RUN ! ! John G Sparta More
Be careful what tires are on your vehicle when you purchase a vehicle here. I bought a brand new 2023 Rogue SV Sport here for close to $40,000. This rogue has a governor on the accelerator, so you can purchase a vehicle here. I bought a brand new 2023 Rogue SV Sport here for close to $40,000. This rogue has a governor on the accelerator, so you can't go too fast really quickly. I do not speed around or beat up my car. I drive for amazon. After 20,000 miles, my factory tires are not even 14 months old after purchase. I need new tires already. I spoke to my sales rep, the service rep, and the service manager. They told me there was no warranty on the factory tires and told me to call consumer affairs for nissan. I shouldn't have to do this on a brand new car. The bottom line is if you're going to buy a car here, I guess you should be expecting them to take advantage of you, because that's how I feel about my experience. Needless to say, I won't be buying another vehicle here after feeling like this. It's ridiculous to need new tires and spending 1,000 dollars on tires after 1 year on a brand new car and only 20,000 miles. Nissan was aware of this situation being a problem and them giving you poor tires on new factory vehicle. Unfortunately, they pretty much told me that was my problem. I had a great experience with my sales re the woman that sold me the car "Rhee". When I purchased the vehicle, everything was smooth and enjoyable and also a fast experience. So that made me comfortable with Nissan and was hoping to build a relationship here for future purchases. Unfortunately, this tire experience has changed my thoughts. If they are willing to practice poor standards on tires service knowing this, then what else would they be willing to not stand behind? ******Update******* Nissan responded to my reply here on the reviews but before my review noone at Nissan chose to help me. Nissan never even called me they sent text messages from a company phone number and I never even knew who I was speaking too. They never resolved my issue and honestly never even tried. Nissan Nielsen's customer service and management is obviously a joke. Like i said earlier becareful purchasing a vehicle here. I'll will actually be upgrading my vehicle very soon and I can can assure you where I won't be going again! It's like the old saying goes "Fool me once, Shame on you!".... I won't give them a second chance to take advantage of me again! Hopefully this review helps alot of people when making there decision, I'm glad it has had so many views since posting! More
I have never been more disappointed by a dealership. I purchased a certified preowned vehicle from them and have regularly had the car into the dealership for service. The car was still under powertrai I purchased a certified preowned vehicle from them and have regularly had the car into the dealership for service. The car was still under powertrain warranty, and I started having trouble with it, the engine would not consistently start. I brought it to the dealer and was advised to complete a $800 service to clean out some values and a perform a fuel injection service. Within a month, the problem resurfaced and I returned to the dealer, this time I was told the engine was shot and that I needed a new one. I was still under warranty for transmission/ engine so asked to have that completed under my warranty. They opened a claim and started the process, I provided full documentation of all the consistent service I had done on the vehicle. Nissan denied my claim and said the it was due to carbon which is not covered. The tech that worked on my car, shrugged his shoulders and said that excessive carbon build up is normal for these direct injection engines and there was nothing to do. The service department confirmed that they had no ability to help, essentially admitting either the engines do not last, or that the warranty is useless. I am left with a car that is not paid off, and requires an $8,000 repair of a part that is under warranty. I have had Hondas, Hyundais and Toyotas, all of which at some point need repairs that were under warranty, all of these other companies were helpful, and accommodating and ensured that the car worked as it should. Nissan and this dealership did nothing of the sort. Crapy car, a useless warranty and disappointing help from the service department. I would never buy or service a car with them again. More
Be careful with this dealership. They don't stand by their work and lack moral and ethics. They will say something one minute and lie about it the next. I took my car to Nielsen They don't stand by their work and lack moral and ethics. They will say something one minute and lie about it the next. I took my car to Nielsen Nissan dealership in Stanhope, NJ in May of 2023 to find out why my floors would soak with water after heavy rainfall. The dealership diagnosed the car and and charged me 1200 dollars to fix the problem. The told me my weather strips were replaced and my drains were cleaned and I should have no further problems. After fixing the vehicle, I took it to a car detail shop for mold remediation( an additional 250 dollars). Fast forward to few weeks ago in December of 2023 when we experienced heavy rainfall, again... the same issue resurfaced. I called the dealership to report the problem since it had only been 7 months and there has barely been any rain till now. Mary (the front clerk) told me that they will look into the problem, and they will be no diagnostic fee. When we dropped off the car, we inquired about signing the paper work that said diagnostic on it, they explained to us that we needed to sign to drop off the car. When I called them a few days later to check on the vehicle, she told me that the technician only looked at the outside and didn't look at the inside (because he didn't want to get sick). I explained to her the vehicle had mold remediation back in May after the repair was done. She said okay, she will let the technician know and get back to me. She told me again that they are doing this to help us find the issue, they will be no diagnostic fee. She called me back and told me that the technician looked at it and possibly found the problem and it will cost 983 dollars to repair. I told her that the issue was never fixed back in May and asked if they warrantied their work? She said no, it was a different issue. However, the problem is still the same, my floors are wet during rain fall. Since the issue was never fixed in May, and they offered no guarantees, I opted to pick up my vehicle. Only to find out that Mary and the dealership changed their whole story and told me I signed a document and they are charging me a diagnostic fee of 169 dollars. If Mary took a lie detector test she would be so guilty, so would the manager whom she got permission from before we even dropped off the car. What a set of liars. Nielsen Nissan and their staff are not only incompetent, they lack customer service and simple morals. Stay away. More

This review would have been a 1 star review at some parts of this process, but I was able to raise it to a three. A short summary of my experience with the service department: * A check engine light came on of this process, but I was able to raise it to a three. A short summary of my experience with the service department: * A check engine light came on our 19 Murano. Took it to Autozone and the code indicated a lean gasoline mixture. * Took it to Nielsen’s and was told the problem was an evap canister leak. The repair would be about $300. Paid that, and the repair was supposedly done. * The next day the engine like came on again and Autozone confirmed it was the same exact code. * I took the car back to Nielsen’s as was told that there was a new problem that had absolutely nothing to do with the first, even though the error code was the same. The new repairs would involve the replacement of two sensors and an Engine Control Module update. Cost - $1324. * When I told them I needed to take the car somewhere else, they told me that I would need to pay the $169 diagnostic fee. That’s when the review would have been a 1! I protested that I had already paid to have the car fixed a few days before and shouldn’t have to pay again for what seemed to be either an error in their first diagnosis or an error in the work. * They returned the car to me without demanding the diagnostic fee. The review went back up a notch then. * When I requested that they send the estimate and codes to me to forward to another mechanic they cooperated fully and were very helpful - so, another bump up in the review. * The second mechanic believed that the second diagnosis was correct, even though he thought the price they were asking was “a little high.” So, I think three stars are about right – a small deduction for what seems to me to have been either a bad first diagnosis or a mistake in the installation process and an initial request for a second diagnostic fee. I suppose that there is an extremely slight chance that the second engine light coming on may have had absolutely nothing to do with the problems the day before, but that seems highly unlikely to me. At any rate, that was my experience at Nielsen’s Nissan service department. More

Let me start by saying the only reason I’m rating them one star is because there is no option for zero. The service manager Bob should not be allowed to deal with human beings at all has no customer serv one star is because there is no option for zero. The service manager Bob should not be allowed to deal with human beings at all has no customer service skills and is the type of person that will destroy someone’s business. The owner of this place should really consider this guys employment there. Treats customers like trash even though he is the only trashy thing in there. Now let’s go on to the the guy who inspects the cars he really needs to be trained again because he can’t even tell the difference between vehicle damage and dirt. If anyone reading this values their time and money do not service or buy vehicles from this place. I just wonder if all other Nielsen dealers are the same? The only thing I can gather based on this experience is that they are if they hire people like bob and employees who are not properly trained to do their jobs. More
