More fees than I have ever encountered I test drove a $10k 2017 model year car. After the test drive, the salesman worked up an offer of over $13k, which included tax, clerical fees, "prep" I test drove a $10k 2017 model year car. After the test drive, the salesman worked up an offer of over $13k, which included tax, clerical fees, "prep", and $750 "captive cash". I asked what "captive cash" is, and he explained to me that dealerships charge it when the customer is not financing via dealer financing (I was paying cash). I asked also about "prep" because the car's interior was not especially clean, there were several noticeable scrapes and a small portion of the upholstery was damaged. I was told "prep" included oil and tires... the tires were mid-life and I've always considered the tires and oil to be part of the car and not something to pay extra for. The original workup was for $15.5k but they knocked a couple grand off as a "buy it today" special. The majority of vehicles I've purchased over the course of 32 years have been used and I've never been subjected to "captive cash" or, in fact, tax + fees equaling such a large percentage of the total purchase price. I left the dealership without buying the vehicle. I'm keeping the workup sheet as a reminder. More

I've been coming to this dealership since 1987 I bought my first Nissan here in 1987. The salesman's name was Pete, and the dealership was located on the other side of 206 in this little spot. I'm now on my sixth Nissan, and every single one of them was bought at Sussex County Nissan. I've never had a problem after my car was serviced here. I think Bruce was the mechanic. Daren Howie has been the salesman I've had the privilege of dealing with for a few of the cars. He's very honest, extremely customer oriented and humble. Rare qualities to find in a car salesman! But that's how you know you have a great salesperson working for you; people remember your name. More

My credit rating at risk, received phone calls about late payments on a vehicle I no longer owned and the dealership finally paid it off 26 days after I traded in the car. ALSO they failed to transfer registration to my new vehicle, 30 days passed, the temporary NJ tags were expired and they held my new permanent tags “hostage” until I paid additional money to them. TOTALLY UNSCRUPULOUS DEALERSHIP! I would never buy from them again. Salesperson was always MISSING IN ACTION every time I called. Made money from me and left me high and dry. More

He was the most enjoyable sales person we have ever worked with. We have purchased numerous vehicles before and had leased 4 cars from Lynnes Nissan and Gary De Mayo was by far and hands down, the absolute best salesperson we have ever worked with. He was truthful, knowledgeable, very personable and friendly and most important.... no BS. No "hidden figures", no haggling, just told us how it was and did it with a smile. We so appreciated his honesty. We chose to lease a Nissan Rogue and are very happy with our decision. We will recommend Gary De Mayo to all of our friends and family and will definitely go back to him when our lease is up. He is an true asset to Nissan of Stanhope!! As a side note, our total experience with Nissan of Stanhope was so much better than our past experiences with Lynnes Nissan ( who we worked with for 10 years). The finance manager (woman) was a breeze to work with; we were in and out quickly ( which is unheard of). Thank you Gary De Mayo for a fantastic sales experience! More
