The technician quickly determined the cause, and I was informed of the issue and cost to correct the problem. The problem was corrected and the price was right. Not your best When I brought my car in at 8:30am for an oil change, I was told there was an outstanding recall that only a hybrid tech could take care of. (I was not aware there was a recall) The service writer said it would take 2 to 3 hours. I said that would be fine since I had a friend picking me up for breakfast but that I definitely needed it after 3 hours because I had another appointment later that afternoon. I returned from breakfast about 11:00 (2 1/2 hours later) and my car wasn't ready yet so I had a seat in the waiting room. When I still hadn't heard anything by noon, I started to worry but tried to be patient. Finally at 1:00, I asked how much longer it would be because I needed to be arranging a ride to my next appointment if it wasn't finished shortly. Another service writer told me my car was done and had been for some time. When my service writer returned, she presented me with a bill for an oil change and tire rotation and her apologies for not calling me when the car was finished. She said she would comp the tire rotation since she had been too busy to call me but I had to remind her that I had purchased the tires from them and thought they had mentioned a free tire rotation for purchasing from the dealership. After all was said and done, she took another reduction from my bill. I ended up paying $39.95. If I hadn't complained and just paid the bill, it would have been over $90 (plus all of the wasted hours sitting in the waiting room). I felt like unless I got "nasty", I would probably be overlooked and over charged again in the future. I have always had my Prius serviced at the dealership (and my RAV before that) but now I am questioning this. If my next experience is this poor, you will have lost a loyal customer. More
