I was very pleased with the fact that I was able to get an appointment for NYS Inspection within an hour from when I called. At the same time I thought it was a red flag because I had called the Jeep deale an appointment for NYS Inspection within an hour from when I called. At the same time I thought it was a red flag because I had called the Jeep dealer in Hamilton and couldn't get an appointment until 2 weeks later. To me that indicated that Nye was not very busy. I kind of had a feeling that they would make sure to find something wrong with the vehicle even though everything in my opinion was working just fine. No warning lights and I had just put new tires on the vehicle. Sure enough they failed my inspection because if windshield wipers. I stated that they just had worked fine the day before when it rained. So they took a picture of the wipers and told me that there was some fraying going on at the top end of the wipers. The charge was going to be $31.78/wiper. I promptly advised them that I was not going to pay that amount for wipers and that I would go across the street to Walmart and have them installed. My trip to Walmart was very successful because I was able to purchase 2 wiper blades installed for $22.63. I told the nice young lady (Jennifer) that it was that very reason that I did not like doing business with them. I really don't blame the individuals that I received service from because I am pretty certain that they are following orders and that they did so with as much grace as possible. More
I took my wife’s Jeep in for a noise it was making in the front end. Turns out the problem was the front right hub & bearings. The dealership quoted me an astronomical price of roughly $870. The part as I came to find out later was $225 part. But to get that part would have been a 3 - 5 week wait as there was a block on that part by Chrysler. Primarily because of the ridiculous estimate to repair my wife’s Jeep & secondly because of the unavailability of the part to both dealerships & customers I took my business elsewhere. When I did, I was told both front hub assemblies had to be replaced. How the xxxx does both hub assemblies break in just 2yrs of buying this vehicle brand new!? The cost to repair my wife’s Jeep was just over $600 for parts and labor. And it was fixed in a week. I’m quickly losing interest in Chrysler products and their service departments because of this and a previous repair needed on my wife’s Jeep, again, that was bought brand new. I’m seriously disgusted about this. More
