Mini of MOnrovia didn't fix my car right! I have been taking my 2014 Mini Clubman to Mini of Monrovia for more a year now. I brought it to them on Monday, Oct. 8th, 2018 because of a noise that has progressively gotten worse since they repaired it in July. I met with a mechanic named Kevin. He took me in my car for a ride to discover the problem. Within 1 minute of driving still on the lot at Mini, Kevin determined that a plate on the rear side of my right front wheel was rubbing. He took a hammer and a screw driver and tapped it a couple of times. The noise stopped. He and I got back into my car and he said he heard another noise from my engine that was a sensitivity pressure plate. It was making noise. He said they could fix it or replace it. I was given paperwork and the Service Manager Parkson Yee told me they would diagnose it and call me on the following day. Parkson did call me the next day. After I asked, and not before, Parkson said I could get a loner car until my Mini was fixed. I explained to him that the door lock on the driver side was not functioning properly. He said that the mechanic would diagnose it and initiate any necessary repairs. He then took me to the BMW loan dept. I was given a 2019 Mini for a loner until my car was ready. On Thursday, 10/11, Parkson called me to say my car was completely finished and I could come and get it any time. At 12:30PM, I returned their loner car and pickup up my Mini. Upon leaving the Car lot, I notice the driver side door was not working at all. The motor for the door locks had been replaced according to Parkson. I exited my car at a gas station in Pasadena. The "new" motor for the door lock was not running at all. I contacted Parkson immediately who told me I could bring my car back for inspection. I told him I was on my way to work and could not return that day. He said Tuesday would be the next day that he would be available for me to get a repair. The ironic thin is I arrived at my work at South Pasadena. I made contact with an unknown man at a Coffee shop. He began asking me about my Mini Cooper. What year, how I liked it, etc. I told him that I just picked it up from Mini of Monrovia for repairs. $1095. worth! it was not completely fixed. The door was not functioning to lock correctly. This unknown man proceeded to tell me that Mini of Monrovia has a reputation for not completing work they charge for. That my car was probably never repaired correctly at that I should beware of the promises I get for completed work. This does NOT make me feel better knowing that stories are being circulated about mini of Monrovia not being an honest repair place. The fact remains, my car was repaired of I was charged for repairs in the amount of $1095. The front door lock not only remains inoperable by remote or motor, but the motor is not working at all. This is poor workmanship! I want to get it repaired. Or to get what I paid for. More
