Arrived for schedule appt this morning at 7:30am for oil change and tire rotation. As I watched customers: that arrived after me in the waiting room, and had their service advisor meet with them with update change and tire rotation. I went to see my service adviser.. I waited for 5 minutes by his desk: while he was talking to another customer on the phone, he never stopping to ask me what I needed. Once he was free at 9:05am, I asked him what is the status of my car. He said it is waiting to be looked at still. I said please get me my car ASAP. and express my dissatisfaction by not being updated. No apology! We have purchased our last two vehicles at McGrath Honda! You would think a loyal customer would at least get updates while waiting for their car. We will never buy or get service on our Honda's at you facility again. Terrible. More

I purchased a vehicle from McGrath in February 2024, and part of the dealership’s promotion included two free oil changes at a McGrath location. In November 2024, I used the first free oil change without is part of the dealership’s promotion included two free oil changes at a McGrath location. In November 2024, I used the first free oil change without issue. This week (Tuesday 8/26/25), I called McGrath Honda in Elgin to verify that I still had one free oil change left. The representative on the phone confirmed that I did. Based on that, I made an appointment for Friday 8/29/25. When I dropped my vehicle off, the service advisor informed me that my oil change would cost $130. When I explained that I had just confirmed my free oil change on Tuesday, I was met with dismissiveness and told my offer expired in Feb 2025. This is extremely misleading and frustrating. I relied on the dealership’s own employee’s word when scheduling my appointment. I expected better from a McGrath dealership, but my experience this time has been disappointing and unprofessional.
