I wanted a Chevrolet Camaro and had already been to some other dealerships before McCarthy. Dan was by far the best salesman out of the other dealerships I went to. I got exactly what I wanted, and Dan an other dealerships before McCarthy. Dan was by far the best salesman out of the other dealerships I went to. I got exactly what I wanted, and Dan and the staff at McCarthy made it a great experience. I will definitely be back and refer everyone to them. More
I emailed the internet team regarding a 2013 Honda Accord they had listed online. I knew it was exactly what I wanted and they worked with me on price via email. I didn't want to go into the dealership unti they had listed online. I knew it was exactly what I wanted and they worked with me on price via email. I didn't want to go into the dealership until we had worked out a price because I had a very bad experience with high pressure sales the weekend before at Jay Wolfe Honda. I came in, test drove the car and proceeded with the paperwork. There was absolutely zero pressure from Carl to buy, which I really appreciated. He was also very patient with me. I was actually not fully prepared with the paperwork on my trade but they were very flexible at getting the deal squared away. The process was pretty seamless and I left with the car that night. More
We bought a certified pre-owned 2008 Chevrolet Malibu LTZ with 22,000 miles. When we purchased the financial employee stressed we buy an extended warranty because Chevrolet will not offer one and we would be with 22,000 miles. When we purchased the financial employee stressed we buy an extended warranty because Chevrolet will not offer one and we would be hung out to dry if we did not. Now I know why. In two years of ownership I have spent over $1,000 in repairs to a car that has less than 40,000 miles on it and was allegedly certified as a quality car. We only received a three month warranty. The battery died at 6 months, both key remote died at 7 months, power switch that controls power locks went out at 10 months, rear locking mechanisms on both sides went out at 11 months, sun roof drain came apart at 14 months drenching the circuit board, front locking mechanisms on both sides went out at 16 months, and it in the shop again now. Sean at customer service said Chevrolet is not giving warranties out for much more than a year right now even on new cars because every bump in he road could bring about a problem and they are not in the business of predicting the future. I called Chevrolet's corporate office and they said it was not under warranty and also could not help. When I asked if they could do some repairs for free since they sold me the "certified" lemon I was told they have employees to pay and could not do that. So they make a product they refuse to stand behind as a company and the dealerships sell cars they certify as quality but also can't help when the car turns out to be a POS. Thanks for nothing. More
i rated this dealership as bad for many reasons. the first being when i bought my car, they told me they would fix my rearview mirror when they got the part in and they would detail it then. after many first being when i bought my car, they told me they would fix my rearview mirror when they got the part in and they would detail it then. after many attempts to call and many voicemails left, no one would return my calls. finally i complained to the manager and they got me connected with someone who did care. i got my car in to be fixed months after i bought it. they still did not detail it however. i was promised many things that did not happen so i just started going to another dealership. this place seemed once they got my money and i took the car they wanted nothing further to do with me. i will never again buy so much as a paper clip from this place. also the owners moron son decided to race my car through the bay like he was at the kansas speedway. i mentioned it to the finance manager and he simply said "thats the owners son, if he wrecks it he will just buy you another car". he clearly totally missed the point. I believe people typically feel dealing with a car salesman is a negative experience due to the stereotypical "pushy" salesperson. Our experience with Marc and everyone at McCarthy Chevrolet was the salesman is a negative experience due to the stereotypical "pushy" salesperson. Our experience with Marc and everyone at McCarthy Chevrolet was the exact opposite. They were friendly and very helpful without being overly aggressive. There was no rush. Marc took the time to go over every detail of the invoice, look at the different vehicle options, was ready for us when we came in, from our first visit to vehicle pickup it was a positive experience. We had originally contacted a dealership closer to home but they didn't have the colors in the model we wanted. They were supposed to search for the colors we were interested in, and this was a week ago today. We just received a call back from them this afternoon, a full week later. We were very glad we decided to not wait and go to McCarthy they had a great selection of what we wanted, it is so much better to view the vehicle in person than simply look at a picture. More
Things to remember if they tell you they will call back or promise to, they wont. You the customer will have to call them and call them till somebody will answer. Once you buy the car you are on your own, or promise to, they wont. You the customer will have to call them and call them till somebody will answer. Once you buy the car you are on your own, they could care less if you come back as a customer or not. Just getting the title for the car I bought was a hassle. I have bought many many cars in my life at least once a year and I have never had a bad experience like I have with McCarthy Chevrolet. A Joe Slick operation they are. I sure wish I had gone through to read all the bad reviews about this dealership before hand. More
Several weeks ago, I noticed a gas odor coming from the rear of my Saturn Ion. Upon researching, I discovered that was a symptom of a fuel pump problem that was recalled by GM in 2010. I never received any rear of my Saturn Ion. Upon researching, I discovered that was a symptom of a fuel pump problem that was recalled by GM in 2010. I never received any notification of this recall. This dealer was the GM-recognized Saturn repair center following their closing of the Saturn brand. Naturally, I took my car to this dealer since it was a recall issue. When I explained this issue to Scott, I asked if there was a recall for this problem. He said "No.". I then provided him with the recall number. He looked up something on his computer and said I didn't qualify. I figured he probably didn't have any control over that, so I said I'd call GM and he said "You can try." My first sign of their lack of helpfulness. I called GM that day, received a case number and spoke to a very pleasant woman who seemed very interested in helping. She asked if I had the service advisor's direct number and I provided his desk phone and cell phone number. She put me on hold to call him. When she returned, she noted he did not answer either number but she left messages and would call me back the next day. When I picked up my car I asked Scott if he had talked to GM. He said he never received any calls or messages. Then just silence. No offer to call them, or try to help resolve the question. I asked if he would call her. "I'll try." was the response. Well, after a week of calls back and forth with GM, they finally were able to speak with someone in the service department and the dealer would not refund the charge. The reason, they stated, was because my car was over the milage limit for the recall. The only problem with that is that when the recall happened, I would have been under the limit. But I was never notified and if I had been, of course I would have had the part replaced. I am disappointed and disgusted with both this dealer and GM. The dealer tried to hide and avoid the issue, and GM was cowardly. The right thing to do would be to honor the recall because I was never notified. But they are using a false technicality to avoid responsibility. In reading various reviews of this dealership, I am now not surprised. If at all possible, I would avoid this dealer and I will do everything in my power to make sure that anybody I can warn about this dealer, I will. Shame on you, McCarthey Chevrolet. More
