I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Lexus of Arlington. I was a serious out-of-state buyer interested in purchasing a 2027 GX 550. . After numerous conversations with Lina regarding the vehi of Arlington. I was a serious out-of-state buyer interested in purchasing a 2027 GX 550. . After numerous conversations with Lina regarding the vehicle, financing, pricing, and pickup arrangement, I agreed to the dealership's requirements that we complete all paperwork in person and physically drive the vehicle off the lot. We had already looked at flights to Illinois to finalize the purchase. Only after discussing travel arrangements did I learn that the vehicle wasn't even on their lot. Its estimated time of arrival should have been communicated upfront. Despite this, I remained interested in the vehicle and asked a simple question: If I placed a deposit but found a comparable vehicle at another dealership would my deposit be refundable? I asked this question three separate times and never received an answer. Instead, after multiple follow-ups, I was informed that someone else had placed a deposit on the vehicle and that the dealership was reserving its remaining inventory for local customers. This was incredibly frustrating. I had spent considerable time discussing the purchase, received the proposal, agreed to their inconvenient purchasing requirements, and was actively trying to understand their deposit policy so that I could move forward. At no point during the follow ups did Lina answer my question about the deposit. I completely understand that vehicles sell and dealerships may prioritize local customers. However, if that is the dealerships approach, it should have been communicated clearly at the beginning rather than after a customer has invested time on this process. I would strongly caution out-of-state buyers to confirm vehicle availability, deposit policies, and whether Lexus of Arlington is willing to sell its available inventory to nonlocal customers before investing time or making travel arrangements. More
