When you work hard for every dollar you make and you finally are able to obtain financing to purchase a used vehicle that you were told was inspected and is running great… you don’t expect to have a maj finally are able to obtain financing to purchase a used vehicle that you were told was inspected and is running great… you don’t expect to have a major breakdown in the first few months of ownership. We bought a used van from Landmark Automotive Group in Springfield IL on May 8, 2021. Yes I UNDERSTAND it is a USED VAN…. When I contacted the sales person about this van, I asked a lot about the history, service records and if they had inspected it. The sales guy, Jeremy Lookis, said he would have it inspected. He then messaged me back after it had been inspected and said that everything was fine and they gave the van an oil change. We took the van for a test drive as directed by the salesman, which was around a several block area basically around their dealership. Once we completed the paperwork and headed back to Colfax. On the way home, at 55-60 there was a shake in the front end. I called the salesman once we were home about it. The next day Garry Oesch had I’m the van looked at and it was discovered that the sway bar was bad and needed replaced. Also the rear differential was leaking, and the tires were dry rotted on the inside. So we had the work done and had new tires put on. In late August on the way to work, the van broke down… the transmission had went out! (No warning lights nothing, just wouldn’t drive after going from Colfax to I55 at Towanda) I called the dealership and left several voicemails and never heard back. We had our dealership put in a remanufactured transmission with a warranty. Back on the road… on this last Monday Garry drove to Peoria no problem, once he turned on to Pioneer Rd, the van lost all power and started knocking!!! The engine had just went out…. Thankfully a good friend helped him get it back to Normal the next day to the dealership where we have had all our work done. Now the van needs a new engine! I called Landmark Automotive in Springfield AGAIN…. I spoke to Jeremy Lookis and he said he felt bad but his hands were tied. I said we bought this van 4 MONTHS AGO! 4 MONTHS! He just said he was sorry we only had a 90 day warranty…. So I called the General Manager Mr. Borski 2 times and he called me back… only to be very short with me and to keep repeating “What did you expect for a 9 year old van with over 140k in mileage.” Everything I said to him… he would just say “I will repeat… what did you expect,” or I hate to say it again” Now, I understand we bought a USED VAN… that is 9 years old with 142k in mileage… but we EXPECTED it would last longer than 4 MONTHS ! He said I don’t know what you want from us? Well what I wanted was a van that was gonna last longer than 4 MONTHS! I am so disappointed with Landmark Automotive Group…. We paid over $12,000 for this van and did not expect to have to put another $9,100 in it in less than 5 months and be told “Well, what did you expect” More
They act is if they are doing you a grande favor letting you purchase a vehicle. The sales manager is arrogant and incredibly rude. He did not stand by his words. I was scheduled for a repair by the service department for the 27th of March. I received reminders which I acknowledged. After driving the 53 miles from my home to the facility I was turned away because i for the 27th of March. I received reminders which I acknowledged. I was also told that I could not schedule a new appointment and would have to call back on Monday. After arriving back home I had a Missed Appointment message waiting! More
