Called ahead two different times for a Sportage with a certain color and package. Of these two times, the second call was the morning I left to go down to the dealership. When I got there, the vehicle I c certain color and package. Of these two times, the second call was the morning I left to go down to the dealership. When I got there, the vehicle I called on was not there. Not the biggest deal in the world, but a bit inconvenient, being that I was driving three hours to get to the dealership. Just a bit frustrated....... Drove another vehicle (Sorento) that ended up working out. We settled on a price, with a handshake, and within about 20 minutes, we found out that one of Kia's rebates cannot be combined with another one, so I was only able to do two of the three advertised rebates. Again, not the biggest deal in the world, but I now knew that the price was obviously going to change. I did not make the mistake, yet I am going to end up paying for this error. We ended up splitting the difference and closed the deal. Robert did what he could to make up for the error, and I just came up a little bit. A bit more frustrated....... During the process, I was going to pay the difference of the rebates/trade. I was asked to fill out a form, basically name, ss#, address, etc. for the "terrorist check". Okay, been through this before. The form I was filling out was a standard credit form, and I asked about this and told that it was for the terrorist check. In the finance department, wrapping up the deal, one of the first forms I signed was the authorization to pull my credit report, which was pulled when I previously gave up my information on that 'credit' form. Of course, my credit was fine with an awesome FICO, but that is not the point. The point was to NOT pull credit. Why? I came in to take care of the deal and not finance with the dealer, so why is my credit being pulled? I was told that it was due to the deal possibly falling through. I was paying for it with pre-arranged financing through a bank, so I was not paying for it with a 3rd party, no ID, personal check or something. Frustrated once again....... Okay, not really excited about that. What I explained is that if they are going to do this, just explain this up-front to the customer. Most, if not all customers, will understand why, but tell them, rather than not tell them and have the customer find this out in the finance department after the fact. I don't like the 'terrorist watch' information being used to pull someone's credit at the same time. ARRRGH!!! Just let us know first, that's all...no big deal...and most everyone will be fine with it. I will guarantee you that someone, at some point, will just get up and walk out if they found out this happened. It may not have happened yet, but it will happen at some point in the future..... After all of this, and some disorganization, the deal was done and I was on my way. The vehicle is doing fine. The disorganization had to due with some missing keys, organizing paperwork, and stuff like that. Not a big deal, but when someone is trying to get into a dealership, wrap up a deal, and move on, it's a bit of a pain. Minor inconvenience but not a deal-breaker. All-in-all, it was a very good experience, minus the few inconvenience listed above. The price change due to the rebate was a bit frustrating, but I wasn't going to blow the deal over that (really, just a few hundred bucks). The pulling of the credit pissed me off, only because I felt like I was duped into signing something that I did not need to sign and told something else about what the purpose of the form was really for. For those looking to go to the dealership, I would recommend Robert. He was very pleasant to deal with, and we didn't go back-and-forth with prices, trades, etc. He was a straight-shooter and was also ready to wrap the deal up fast...except about the credit pull... :0 (JUST TELL PEOPLE, THAT'S ALL) Just fix a few protocol issues and this would have been a top-notch experience during my visit. I would go back again, deal specifically with Robert, and wrap up another deal, despite these previous issues. I now know what to expect and will just go in a bit more open-minded in the future. Even with what occurred, the experience was 1000% better than what I've dealt with in the past at other places. KEEP IN MIND, THIS EXPERIENCE WAS MUCH, MUCH, BETTER THAN WHAT MANY OTHER PLACES WILL DO TO 'EARN' ONE'S BUSINESS. I just needed to share what happened with me with my recent purchase. Thank you More

I was in the market for a Soul Exclaim! I had a unique situation. Ryan and Jake worked super hard to make the sale happen. I'm very grateful for their expertise and service. They were kind and Ryan offere situation. Ryan and Jake worked super hard to make the sale happen. I'm very grateful for their expertise and service. They were kind and Ryan offered several times for a refreshment. I wouldn't be driving my new Soul today if it weren't for them. I will definitely refer friends and family who are in the market for a Kia to them. They were both extremely professional and yet down to earth at the same time. I'd say it was my best car buying experience (and who likes sitting at a dealership working out a deal?). Thanks to both of you! More
My experience at this dealership was excellent. The salesperson, Steve Earwood, was friendly, conscientious, and focused on doing whatever it took to get me the car I wanted. I kept getting passed around - the first salesman got someone else to help after 10 minutes with me because "another client" showed up. The next - female salesperson lied and said the one Kia I came to s someone else to help after 10 minutes with me because "another client" showed up. The next - female salesperson lied and said the one Kia I came to see was already sold. She was on her cell phone texting while I took a test drive with her. Then, she kept running off to help someone else, and finally, in the middle of negotiations, passed me off to a third salesman so she could help her other, more important client. "He's a commercial client". This is customer service? I was on a visit to actually buy, and was treated consistently like I didn't matter. Meanwhile the music was blasting out of a new car outside, as well as loud music in the dealer showroom. Is the music for customers? I really want a Kia, and now I am wondering if I buy one at another dealer how I would be treated by the service department at Kirby Kia. Clue to the sales manager - give your sales reps some lessons in manners, how to treat a buying customer with dignity (like don't text), and turn the music down. You are there because you want a paycheck, which is where I come in. And, I don't like to be lied to. Is it asking too much to have the salespersons attention? Guess so. More
