It was time for us to purchase a new car because my Dodge Ram 1500 eats a lot of gas and I drive a lot of miles per week. Now that we have a baby we need an economical car so I can save money on gas. My wife,sister and I went to several places to pick the right car for us and for amount that we can afford to the monthly payments. After several places and very frustrating day we were having we ended up going to Kia of Ventura because my sister also purchase one of Kia Forte a while back and she said that the car was excellent.First time we went to Kia of Ventura we met Helen Chesser. She was very friendly. She was not pushy like some other places we've been to. She offered us her help to find the car that I wanted to try. I told her that I wanted the Forte, showed us the car and here we went. She explained to us everything about the car. She knows the car like no other. After we tried the car for a test drive she told us how much the car was and she will do her best for us to get the car that we liked. I told her that I did not have any cash money for down payment but I have a truck for trade-in. And she said she will do her best to get better price for my trade so I have enough money for Down payment. However, that night my truck was at home so she could not get a better accurate price for my truck. So we told her that we will come back and bring the truck with us next time. So we left and we had better idea now how much the car will be. The night before father's day my family and I came back and I told every one that we were there to see Helen because she was very nice to us and I would like to deal with her and help us. She saw us and she remembered us right away. I told her I want to test drive again the Forte and without hesitation got the key and up we went for test drive. Again, explained to us every button there is in the car. She was awesome. After the test drive we went again inside and she worked her magic to so I can get the car that I want per my budget. She brought in Eric Schutte to help us get the numbers down to the amount I can afford monthly. Because I did not have a great credit history Eric told us that if I could give him until the next day to do his magic and get me a better interest rate from other bank. The next morning -FATHER's DAY- I got a call from Helen saying that she had a good news for us because Eric able to get me a great rate and approved my loan for the car. We were so happy that they worked really hard to make things happen for us. So,here we went drove the car and with smile on our face knowing that we were not pushed nor ignored to what we needed. I highly recommend Helen Chesser to be your next sales lady. She will do extra mile for you to get things done. And I recommend Eric Schutte as well to be your finance guy to help you get the best interest rate for your loan. They were friendly and all but made promises and did not deliver. I came in this past Memorial Day Weekend and was told by John that they didn't have what I wanted but did have it at another location. I was deliver. He said that we could go ahead and negotiate on a price and if everything was to my liking I could put a deposit down and the car would be mine and I would get it on Tuesday. So Tuesday comes around a no call. So I decided I would call them since I was not going to drive from Beverly Hills to Ventura and be very disappointed and enraged if the car was not there. Turns out John was not working that day. I spoke with Conrad the sales manager who tried to explain that since it was Memorial Day Weekend this past weekend that it was crazy and unfortunately the car that was promised to me was already sold. I asked why John would say the car was mine when it wasn't. There was no condition given to me at the time that I was purchasing the car that IF IT WAS AVAILABLE then it would be mine. They totally mislead me. They weren't very apologetic about it either. Conrad said that they were also under the impression that it was a done deal and that he only found out the car wasn't available until Tuesday when he had called to see when they could come and pick up the car. So I gave them the benefit of the doubt as Conrad tried to reassure me that he's been working all day to locate another vehicle for me and that potential other vehicle would be available that Wednesday. So I wait. I gave him until Friday. Still no call. I called him back and asked him what was going on. He says "Didn't Lou call you." I said no. Then I asked for my deposit back. Again no apologies. My husband was looking for a used SUV that is safe and gets good gas mileage because he is in sales and is on the road constantly so puts lots of miles on his vehicles. He was of the mindset to look only at a Honda, Ford or Toyota, but once I convinced him to look at a Kia, he fell in love with the Sorento! He still wanted to compare after looking at it so he test drove many other SUV's but ended up back at Kirby Kia because he definitely wanted the Kia and we were so impressed with the salesperson who helped us when we originally stopped by, Robert Papandrea. He was extremely knowledgeable about the vehicles and was never pushy, just very professional and friendly. We told him what we were looking for and he went over and above to get us just the vehicle we needed. We originally were looking for a used vehicle but the promotions, pricing and warranty on the new vehicles were so great that we bought a 2012 Sorento and couldn't be happier. We highly recommend Kirby Kia and their salesman, Robert Papandrea. More
