I took my 2017 Prius in for a 72 month service with 56,000 miles on it. I was told at this time the transmission fluid needed to be changed so I paid $300 extra to have this done. However the maintenance guide that came with my car says the replacement of transmission fluid at 72 months was only needed for “special operating conditions” such as towing, roof rack or heavy vehicle loading, none of which apply to my car. I made 2 calls to the service department to inquire about the discrepancy in recommendations, neither of which were returned. I called the Toyota Brand Engagement Center which was able to get through to the service dept for me. The explanation I was given for the discrepancy is that the manufacturer wants the car to appear that is has lower maintenance needs to sell you the car. I’m not sure if “buy” that. More

Puts a lot of focus on traditional "I'm not letting you go until we sell you the car" mentality. I decided to buy the car, offer to put a deposit and come back with a cashier's check. But no, they had go until we sell you the car" mentality. I decided to buy the car, offer to put a deposit and come back with a cashier's check. But no, they had to run a credit check without my consent to finance the car for the interim. I ended up sitting there for 2 hours to buy the car. Awful experience. The salesperson was so warm and fuzzy until he sold me the car. He was supposed to put a cargo liner in my trunk and I've left him 3 messages but no call back. What a wicked experience and have no desire to visit this dealership again. More
