My Husband and I made the trip from Dallas to purchase a Venza. Or total time at the dealership was just over 8 hours. We arrived at 11am and left at 7pm. We saw numerous customers who arrived after us get helped by the finance team and we were constantly getting passed up.We made the 4 hour trip from Dallas and it was a terrible experience. Looking back if we knew if this is how our experiences was going to turn out we would have never made the trip. The trim level on the vehicle that was advertised was not accurate. It was not a limited trim and I tried to explain this to the Brenda. She was adamant the vehicle was a limited when in fact I had to provide proof it was not. A customer should not know more about the vehicle than the associate...and it's a Toyota dealership. The car fax still reflects the incorrect trim and we were forced to sign it. We also reviewed a notice we were eligible for a $1k additional on the trade and $700 off sales price, that was never honored. Experience with the finance dept was terrible. They ran my credit more than the two times that was agreed. AL from the finance team was not willing to correct the final monthly payment. An additional 12 cents was added on. The dealership might had received their sales quota for the day but they lost repeat business and a loyal customer over 12 cents. The finance (AL) group decided to wait until all the banks were close...and this was the reason the they could not provide accurate rates. This is a very shady tactic. AL even encouraged us to walk out and take our business elsewhere as he did not want accommodate any of our requests or answer questions. When we did a final look at the vehicle we noticed dirt and food crumbs in the front and rear of the car. Those were never cleaned and we had to clean ourselves. Three large and deep scratches were also noticed Those were never taken care of. The issues were brought up to Daniel (manager) but he never took care of them. He promised he would but he dropped the ball. The surprising part was the numbers and negotiations were taken care of over a week before purchase date. We had to do was test drive the car and take care of financing. Took 8 hours to complete those two tasks. The vehicle was not detailed or ready when we arrived. We waited 2 hours until we actually got the see the vehicle. The team was not prepared and it shows how everything turned out. The Keating Decal and license plate frame has already been taken off. I do not want anyassocistion with this dealership. This will be first and last time we will ever buy a vehicle from a Keating dealership, especially this one. I would stay clear as their tactics are beyond unethical and dishonest. More

They lied to us about price that we were adamant about not going over then went 6k over that price when we showed up to buy the car as long as it looked as good in person. They lied and certified this vehicle when they hadn't done the necessary inspections and it didn't meet the guidelines. It had been in a SERIOUS wreck that still had over 18k worth of damage and poor repair work that needed to be redone. Of course when I tried to contact ANYONE we had spoken to they wouldn't take or return ANY of our calls! This tells me all I need to know that they were perfectly aware of the condition of this car and the lies they told to sell it. Otherwise why ghost us when we haven't even told you why were calling. This is s VERY short summary of the xx that went down with them. I just dont have enough time to share every last detail because this is still an ongoing issue that we have been trying to resolve for a month now. Predatory and Unethical behavior Misleading sales adds/ showing a low price online then way higher when you get there. Deceitful practices/Outright Fraud! Certifying used cars that dont even come close to meeting requirements, not only ruining their name but the Toyota name in the process Poor service team- they were supposed to replace a part while we were there that had caused an issue, they replaced that part but not the other part that was also really messed up. This is the only car we came to look at an to possibly purchase and we were there for 5 hours!!!! After driving 4 hours to get there with our 5 year old that was running a fever. They also informed us about Toyota car insurance which we didn’t know existed because I was talking about looking for a new policy after the price rose. I priced multiple companies and Toyota was the cheapest! Check out this location, you won’t regret it! Totally worth our 1.5 drive. I live in FL and while searching online for a used FJ, I saw that Keating Toyota had a 2010 4WD with a manual transmission and a Clean Carfax. Since the FJ was discontinued in 2014, I'm talking about a vehi saw that Keating Toyota had a 2010 4WD with a manual transmission and a Clean Carfax. Since the FJ was discontinued in 2014, I'm talking about a vehicle that's 10+ years old. I was looking for a fun family vehicle that we could use to take the grandkids to the beach, fishing, etc. Note: The FJ doesn’t have carpet so that’s a plus! I also currently own a 2023 Tundra Platinum and have owned many, many Toyotas over the last three decades. Having said that, this was my first purchase of a Toyota vehicle sight unseen (online). I started texting with Lee about the 2010 FJ. Lee sent me a video of the FJ. The FJ was quite dirty in the video, unlike the pics on Autotrader, and had writing on the windshield and driver’s side glass. Lee said the FJ needed to be detailed. In his video, Lee pointed out a scratch on the passenger side front fender and said they could take care of it. Lee said, "no real major scratches that I can see I mean outside of this..." I didn’t have a problem with the scratch, the vehicle is 14 years old! I wasn’t looking for perfection but I told Lee not to have the scratch repaired–I didn’t want any paint work. Lee also told me “No we don’t do that” when I asked about any paint work on the FJ. Based on the information I received from the dealership, I decided to proceed with the purchase. I completed the paperwork via email and signed more docs that were sent to me overnight. Yes, the docs included the words “AS IS” and I also signed a “Nothing Additional Promised–We Owe” doc and my wife and I joked that they do owe us the vehicle. Being that this was a Toyota dealer and they knew I was relying on the information they were providing to me in order to make my purchasing decision, I trusted them and signed the documents. The vehicle was then to be transported to me from TX to FL. When the vehicle arrived on Easter, I immediately noticed a damaged windshield and some serious paint work on the passenger side. I'm not referring to the scratch that Lee pointed out in his video or any other scratches; I'm referring to paint work on the passenger door. There was also primer overspray inside the passenger door. Was this vehicle in an accident? I texted Daniel Montoya within minutes of delivery and he said he would get back to me on Monday, he didn't. I ended up speaking with Terry Sinclair when Daniel didn't respond. Terry told me he appraised the FJ and it was “almost perfect.” When I asked him if he noticed the paint work and the damaged windshield during his appraisal, he would not comment. It doesn't matter if the damage and paint work occurred prior to them taking the vehicle on trade or if they did the paint work; either way, it should have been disclosed. The age of a vehicle doesn't matter, damage and paint work should always be disclosed to the buyer. I contacted Toyota Motor Corp to see if they could provide some guidance, they assigned a case number and said they would contact Keating Toyota. To sum it up, Keating isn’t doing anything for me. This dealership believes their contract is iron clad and that’s what they’re sticking to. I wanted to return the FJ to them or at a minimum be compensated for the loss in value due to the undisclosed paint work.. In addition, the damaged windshield has to be replaced and my insurance won’t cover it since it was pre-existing damage. In my opinion, Keating Toyota suppressed material facts about the actual condition of the vehicle. As a result, I have now experienced a financial loss. Being an out of state buyer, the dealership knew I was relying solely on their word. Trusting them has proven to be a huge mistake! Keating Toyota turned my “fun family vehicle purchase” into the worst vehicle buying experience I have ever experienced! I would have definitely made a different decision about this particular FJ had I been told about paint work and damaged windshield. I was clear from the beginning - no paint work! More
