I Purchased my car here at this dealership and Jeff Salimi the salesman that sold me the car was great in helping me decide on what car I should buy and he let me know of all the warranties, features o Salimi the salesman that sold me the car was great in helping me decide on what car I should buy and he let me know of all the warranties, features of the car, and payment options and accessories available. The first three months to a year he went out of his way to help me with anything that I needed whether it was service questions or accessories. I have owned the car for about 2.5 years now and I brought the car to this dealer for all the issues I had with this car. Three times they have turned me down for doing a simple check up on issues concerning the car like a whistling sound from the sunroof, a grinding noise from the transmission, the front subframe bolts where loose and they did not fix them, the e-brake cable was loose and barely locked in place. I especially remember when I brought my car in for warranty work on the transmission and my TRD intake which has been on the car since new was not even connected to the throttle body and caused the check engine light to turn on and the car to buck and stall when the gas was not applied, when I got home I inspected the engine bay and found what was wrong. They also denied me work becuase my car was too low, I have a factory ground FX kit with TRD Shocks and springs. Everytime I have brought my car there they seem to just give me the run around because im a younger guy that has a modified car but it has all aftermarket parts that are available from the dealer, and TRD claims that any part that is purchased with the car and installed at the dealer will be warrantied. It seems like they think that I dont know what is going on with my cars. I have owned lots of cars many heavily modified and know the ins and outs of them. I dont know why it seems that they really dont want my business even though my whole family brings there cars there on a regular basis, and all of my friends who have toyotas I have recommended to them as well. I DONT RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP. IF YOU WANT TO DEAL WITH ALOT OF B.S. AND THEM TURNING YOU DOWN FOR THE SIMPLEST THINGS THEN GO AHEAD. More
Kearny Mesa Toyota advertised a specific price on a vehicle in stock, which I was made aware of by the fleet manager. It was advertised for Sunday, but the fleet manager extended the offer to me in wri vehicle in stock, which I was made aware of by the fleet manager. It was advertised for Sunday, but the fleet manager extended the offer to me in writing (by email) while I got a cash down payment and loan approval from my credit union. He also offered to add leather for a written agreed upon price. Within 38 hours, I had the cash downpayment and loan approval. I went to the dealer and accepted the fleet manager's offer. The vehicle was still on the lot and they took me for a test ride. The sales manager told my salesman that the offer I'd been given had expired on Sunday. I explained the written agreement to extend the offer and the leather price. The sales manager said the leather price was incorrect and it would be an additional $198 dollars. I said that wasn't the agreed price, but I'd accept the change. He said he'd have to call the GM about the other agreement. About 20 minutes later the sales manager said the offer would not be honored. He said the fleet manager did not follow protocol and did not get approval to make the offer. He acknowledged that the agreement had been made, because the sales manager checked the fleet manager's email. But, they still would not honor the written agreement. I took a day off work to make this deal and spent 5 hours on the lot with my wife and young child to have them refuse to honor a previously written agreement. They said they could make the deal if I paid an extra $1300 or so dollars. I explained that I felt the actions of their fleet manager was beyond my control, but a written agreement had been made. If nothing else, customer service would dictate their honoring this agreement. They said no and we left. We were stunned at this blatant rescinding of an offer by their fleet manager to a customer. I had purchased a new car from this lot before, and they were aware of that. Your word is who you are, but a written agreement is a contract. This falls within the "bait and switch" parameters, but at the very least, it was outrageous customer service. We remained shocked the whole 50 minute drive home and wondered how a dealership could treat customers in such a fashion. My biggest mistake was not researching in more detail the ratings of this dealership. There are poor ratings all over the internet. More
I brought my 1993 Toyota Previa in with a leaking valve cover gasket and a lurching at idle. They fixed the valve cover gasket as requested and told me that the lurching was a result of a arching spark pl cover gasket and a lurching at idle. They fixed the valve cover gasket as requested and told me that the lurching was a result of a arching spark plug wire. They said the lurching would be fixed by replacing the spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, and the spark plugs wires. The quote for the tune-up work was ~$400. I accepted the high cost for this simple service because they told me it would remedy the lurching. It did not fix the lurching at all. They basically got $400 dollars out of me for nothing and they also have poor problem solving abilities. You pay a premium for dealer service because they work on their brand cars exclusively all of the time. Thus, you hope they have a good database for troubleshooting. Not so with Kearny Mesa Toyota. Avoid and go to a good local garage. More
I brought my 2007 FJ in for service on 3 occasions. All 3 times I had issues. 2 of the 3 times they did not fix the problems or did not have even the most basic parts in stock. (Wiper blades as an example). times I had issues. 2 of the 3 times they did not fix the problems or did not have even the most basic parts in stock. (Wiper blades as an example). Each visit I had to pay for a rental car as well. Another exapmle was I asked for a tire rotation and balance. They never did a road test and the tires were shaking 3x worse after the service. I had a detail and the swirl marks and reside on the car are still evident. I highly reccomend against this dealer for service. More

I tried to buy an 07 Prius from Kearny Mesa Toyota (KMT). My sales guy was great, but when we went to "look at the numbers", the management ruined everything. Matt ran my credit (Honda gave me a monthly pa My sales guy was great, but when we went to "look at the numbers", the management ruined everything. Matt ran my credit (Honda gave me a monthly payment quote based on the fact that I'm a home owner and car owner, etc. KMT won't do any numbers until they run the credit), then went to his manager to see what they could do. Bear in mind I bought a new 02 Tacoma from KMT, and have been getting it serviced here for 5 years. Maybe being a returning customer might be a benefit? Wrong. I am merely a slimeball grovelling at the feet of the manager hoping that he will hear my pleas. Matt came back with a piece of paper that had FULL msrp, lowjack, warranty, etc. Plus another slap in the face for the trade in value of my car. The manager said if he worked with me on the price, then he expected me to sign right then and there. I left. The next morning, the Memorial Day sales started and two other dealers had Prius for $3k off msrp (about $500 over invoice). I almost went to the other dealer, but I was so soured on the KMT experience that I went to my second choice, the civic hybrid. Pacific Honda flat out told me they'ld give me the car for 500 over invoice, they gave my trade in a value $2k over KMT, and even convinced me to lease the car for $215x36 months. No pressure, no intimidation, no xx. KMT can be that way because the Prius is a hot mover, but I contacted two other dealers via the internet and they were much more flexible in terms. No more servicing my truck at KMT, my office mate is about to buy a Toyota SUV and I'll send her to MosseyToyota. KMT is too arrogant. More

Excellent service! Friendly and speedy! We had our 97 corolla oil changed there. They checked the car each time and let us know the condition. Once I went there for battery. They provided me a great pric corolla oil changed there. They checked the car each time and let us know the condition. Once I went there for battery. They provided me a great price and nice service. Today I went there to get my free oil change after 3 times of oil change purchas. I told Ron we were worried about the break pad. He told me that they will do the free safety car checkups for me, and he will let me know if replacement needed. After an hour, I was called to cashier and paid nothing. I still worried about the break pad, and Ron showed me the figures of the check result. No need to be replaced! They are so honest and friendly! It soothed my worries! Thank you, Ron and Kerny Mesa Toyota!! More
