Dealing with Jim Norton Toyota Jim Norton complaint First of all, I want to thank DealRater for the opportunity to make this pubic complaint. On September 19, 2014 I bought tw Jim Norton complaint First of all, I want to thank DealRater for the opportunity to make this pubic complaint. On September 19, 2014 I bought two used cars from Jim Norton Toyota. A 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan and a 2007 Buick LaCrosse. The Buick was in need of a missing right rear view mirror. The salesman and the man handling the financing both said to check back in three weeks and they would replace the mirror. I checked back in mid October and they said for some reason the order was not sent in and to check back again in three weeks. I again checked back in mid November and again, this time, Mr. Kayla said they would let me know when the mirror came in. Again, I checked back in early December and again they said they could not find the order for the mirror and to check back. I am 76 years old and am now retired, but I have managed businesses and owned businesses and the most important thing I learned was to have good customer service, even more important than product or service quality. If your product or service fails, but you stand behind the product or service and make good their complaints, your customers will respect you and keep coming back. A saying I heard early in my business career is “A verbal agreement is not worth the paper it is written on.” As I have read on a number of other DealRater entries this also seems to be the philosophy Jim Norton Toyota is living down to. The Buick also had some minor paint scuffing that were covered up with some kind of temporary paint coloring that came off within a few days. Although minor, to me this is another indication of deception of Jim Norton Toyota dealings with the public. I have been with the same auto insurance company going on 55 years and they sequentially number each insured automobile. These automobiles are my 18th and 19th automobiles that I have bought in 55 years and by far the Jim Norton Toyota treatment is the worst treatment I have ever received in those 55 years by either individuals or dealerships. I am putting this on DealRater at 1:00 PM Sunday, January 4th. I will give Jim Norton Toyota a week to view this evaluation and contact them again January 12th or 13th. I will update you immediately after seeing the people at Jim Norton Toyota. More
Scam Artists Beware of the trade in scam these guys are pulling right now. They called me with a story that they had a purchase order from an insurance company to Beware of the trade in scam these guys are pulling right now. They called me with a story that they had a purchase order from an insurance company to replace someone's truck with one like mine and they would pay over the market value because they didn't have to go through all the prep they normally do when selling a used vehicle. Sounded shady but I have them a shot. From the time I stepped on the lot they started back peddling and lying to me. I could see the deception they were instigating but I let them appraise my truck anyway. The whole time they were trying to get me to commit to a purchase before they would tell me what they would pay me for my truck. They were almost $5,000 less than the kbb trade in value. It is a scam on the customers they have in their database that have already purchased vehicles from them! I have exclusively owned Toyotas since 1992 and purchased my last 2 from this dealership but after this experience it won't happen again. More

I think that I recently purchased a 2014 toyota tundra crew max, it was possibly the best car buying experience that I have ever had at a dealership. I think that I have probably bought and sold 35 to 40 cars and trucks in my life. That being said, I received a great truck for a fair price. More

Bob Howard and Fowler told me that the offers I had from H and JN were too low and that they'd raise it once I got there, so I forwarded those emails and said to H and JN to see what they'd say. Hudiburg realized suddenly that the offer they'd made me they could not stand by, and JN's Blake Hill stood by his quote, so I went to JN. We went on a Saturday afternoon, not a good time to go as it was very busy, so it took way too long to just buy the car. Blake though way too busy and distracted, gave my daughter focused attention when describing the gadgets on the car. The finance guy Josh told me about all of the add-on packages that I could do, and there were a couple I wanted and purchased (though I'm not sure if the extra warranty will pay off or not, but I wanted my daughter to have all the coverage she could have), but he came down on those prices for me and got me a lower loan rate than my bank offered. So, I came away with a really good feeling that I'd purchased what I wanted and my daughter having the best car for dependability and cost efficiency! More
STAY FAR AWAY!! LIARS They lie about anything to con you into a deal! We have been lied to MULTIPLE times by half of the finance staff. Our deal has fallen through 2 time They lie about anything to con you into a deal! We have been lied to MULTIPLE times by half of the finance staff. Our deal has fallen through 2 times but they never bothered to tell us until after the fact. LUKE lied to us about the warranty and conned us out of $800 of our own money--money that was supposed to go to taxes and registration instead went straight to the loan-- this put us in a financial bind as we were relying on this for the $500+ registration. LUKE didn't bother getting the first deal to the bank in time so that's why the pre-approved deal fell through. We found out it fell through (the first time) from our trade-in's finance company. The finance company called us because our payment was late. The dealership didn't bother to call us!! When we did finally talk with someone about the payment being due they (KAYLA) told us to pay it and that they would cut us a check THAT VERY NIGHT. When we went in that night she hadn't told anyone and they said they couldn't cut a check EVER. They ended up taking money away from our down payment to pay us back also lying and saying we would get more of the payment back when the loan was paid off because it would be an overage (LIES again because it was over like maybe $100). We got the check two weeks later, mind you! And they were barely willing to do that! That night as we were talking with JOE (who knew nothing about our deal) we were fine with giving the car back but he and his manager bullied us into signing another contract. They lied and saying it was either the old contract with the old finance company or the new contract that was drawn up. They also said that we were under legal obligation to buy the vehicle. We found out later that this was a blatant lie because of the Oklahoma law stating that the consumer may rescind the deal if financing isn't approved within 15 days. It had been way over 15 days by this point. We were taken in and signed a new contracted because we were unaware of this law. Then they tried again and it fell through but we didn't find out until 2 weeks after it had already been kicked back. When the dealership called us JAY didn't mention that it had fallen through, they said they were still working with the same bank when instead they were working with Toyota's bank. They were purposefully misleading about the situation. We had to call the company that was supposed to be financing us in order to find out it had been kicked back 13 days prior. We've dealt with 3 different finance guys and nobody will call you back and don't expect to EVER get through to someone. They have not been straight with us about anything that has gone on. Our trade in had been paid off already and they have it listed on their website even though the deal didn't go through. Did I mention we "bought" the vehicle on August 2nd and it is currently 9/25 and today is the day we found out that it got kicked back two weeks ago. Thankfully this is against Oklahoma's 15-day financing law so we were able to get out of the "deal." They still lied to us when we went to turn in the keys. They promised they would email us a a legal document saying we were in the clear but it would be the next day because "the person responsible for this" would be in the next day. But even the higher up manager who we finally talked with said that HE couldn't even promise a legal document. They lie about the big and the small things! The only good thing that came from it is that we no longer have a monthly loan because they kept our trade in and took a thousand dollar hit because some idiot paid off the loan before the deal went through. Needless to say, we won't be going back. BEWARE!! NOT WORTH THE HASSLE! More

Watch your back with this dealer. We received a quote by email for the cash price of the 2014 Camry. We made an appointment to drive it, liked it, and made a decision to purchase it. We received a quote by email for the cash price of the 2014 Camry. We made an appointment to drive it, liked it, and made a decision to purchase it. As we waited to write our check, something like an hour, the salesman came by and said that they needed $2000 more, then lowered it to $800. We asked for the manager. He said it would be a bad sales decision to sell at a loss (THEY gave me the price). We left and got an apology call and email the next morning. They came back to the original price. We set up a time a couple hours later to do the transaction. Thirty minutes later we got a call that the deal was off. All blamed on a computer error. The salespersons seem to be caught in the middle with their managers and this must be an owner integrity problem. You cannot believe them. I'll not go back. More

Well, we t Recently, my husband and I were on a hunt for another Toyota. Our first choice was to go back to Jim Norton Toyota either in Lawton or OKC. Well, we tried another Toyota dealer by the name of Fowler. Let's just say that they did not get a sale from the Jefferson's since their way of operating was disrespectful. Fowler Toyota will never have our service...EVER! As soon as I walked into Jim Norton Toyota, Chris F., Joseph, and the receptionist greeted me. I explained my day at Fowler, and from the beginning to the end of my experience, they were jaw-dropped. I was so disappointed in Fowler. But Jim Norton Toyota's team never failed me. They went above and beyond to make this car-buying experience the best one yet. Thank you to Chris F., Joseph, and Matt M. for proving your name to be great in the Toyota industry. My husband and I are so proud to be Toyota owners again. And we will definitely recommend you to others! Thanks again, Carl and Carmen Jefferson More
