had a troubling experience with Jersey City Kia. On August 21, 2024, I emailed GM Mr. Tae Kwon about an issue with his staff: a lack of communication and unauthorized credit checks. Despite this, Mr. Kwon showed no remorse or follow-up. Emily, who promised to call back after checking with the finance manager regarding my down payment request, never contacted me. Despite my efforts to reach her, including leaving voicemails, she did not respond. To my shock, my credit was run through multiple banks without my consent. After contacting Experian, I was advised to request a “letter of deletion” from Jersey City Kia to have the credit checks removed. I informed Mr. Kwon, but he did not respond or take action. I had to call several times before he finally spoke with me, stating he would look into it, but there was still no follow-up. Experian warned that if the dealership didn’t request a deletion, they would initiate a fraud investigation on the dealership. This experience has led me to believe that the dealership is driven by financial motives rather than customer service. I’ve also filed a complaint with the BBB due to their poor management and carelessness. More

Jihad was very helpful in fixing/replacing my Kia Sorento driver's side door latch. All the personel were friendly. However, the cost of $500+ that Kia charged me is excessive considering that it's only fixi driver's side door latch. All the personel were friendly. After this, I took my Kia Sorento to Triple Diamond car shop to fix the right-rear door latch & I was charged for only $80, the latch need not have to be replaced. Also, Greg, the sales rep. behind the Parts Section counter was inept, lacks experience & didn't order the correct item for my Kia Sorento's turn-light signal socket, which cost me $60+. I was told that I can’t return/refund it back. I checked the cost online - it was only 1/5 of what Jersey Kia charged me. My advise to prospective customers is to check online the cost & look for an auto shop, like Triple Diamond, Jersey City. And make Kia Jersey City the last option & unless Kia is the only service provider that can do the job, because the mechanic's cost is about $175/hr. & Kia charges more than double on spare parts. Leased a 2024 Kia Seltos with 11 miles. MSRP=$24490. JC Kia charged me $36047. Pretty significant mark up. 5 weeks later with 1030 miles and I get electronic problems. Car still there as of Aug’24. No updates from service department for 5 weeks. Finally got through with service department with multiple replies of “will call back…”. No call backs. Got Kia USA involved. JC service department call back stating “parts on back order with no ETA”. No offer of loaner done. Worst experience with both sales and service departments. Researched multiple complaints from this dealership including Better Business Bureau. I do not recommend this facility to anyone. It has put me off so much that I am ready to walk away from not only JC Kia but Kia in general. Sad More
We bought a 2018 Sorrento from here and have been happy with it since then. I will never buy another car here though because the service is a disaster, not well-managed. The work culture is lackadaisical, with poor communication, and low expectations. Let me say why. I took my car in to get a diagnostic for a battery/engine problem. I told the front desk staff that I would wait for my car to be diagnosed. I sat for three and a half hours (took a day off from work on a Friday) before I was told the diagnostic could not be completed that day. The front desk staff, nor the staff in the back seemed to care that I had wasted 5 hours between travel and sitting. I told them I needed the car for the weekend so I had to take it, and asked if I could get an appointment for the following Monday. I was told that since I was taking my car, I had to get in the "back of the line" and so I could not get an appointment for another 10 days. Unbelievably ridiculous and unprofessional. This past Tuesday I took my car again for a diagnostic. I was told the diagnostic should be done within a day. The next day I called and was told the diagnostic should be done by Friday. Again, completely unprofessional. I called again today, Friday, and was told "hopefully" the diagnostic will be done today. I had a family, we need our car for this weekend. I am now stuck with my car at Kia. The staff there are ill-equipped by management and not actively managed. I will NEVER buy a Kia from Jersey City Kia and recommend that no one do so if you want to buy a car from a dealership that has a competent, resourced, strong work culture service department. What a disaster. More
