Poor communication I came to the Jack Maxton service center for a check engine light solely because of the fabulous experience I previously had at their collision center I came to the Jack Maxton service center for a check engine light solely because of the fabulous experience I previously had at their collision center.My experience this time was so disappointing that I would think the centers are owned by different companies. Initially, everything was fine. I dropped the car off in the morning and received an estimate around lunchtime. I was told the car would probably be done the same day. After that, I never heard anything unless I called to harass them. I called around dinner time that day and was told the technician had already left and they had no updates to give me. I was told me service adviser would call at 8 am the next day. That did not happen, and when I called at lunchtime, I was told that he called off that day, but that another adviser was covering for him and would call me later. When I finally heard from Adviser #2, he informed me "there might be something else wrong," but had no detail to give me. Later that same day, someone else called to tell me that the car was done, but couldn't confirm how much the repair ended up being ( and also offered no detail on what the "something else" might be.) He had to call me back with the total, which did not include anything other than what was discussed in the estimate. I picked up the car, and first thing the next morning the check engine light was back on. So, the "something else" apparently wasn't fixed. I took it back, and the constant phone calls to try to get information on the status of my car started again because when it "should" be done or when I "should" be called was never accurate. If they would have just set the proper expectation, I wouldn't have been so upset. If you can't look at it until tomorrow, say that. It's much better to be upfront about delays then to confirm them when I call you to ask why you haven't called me. More
