Take well over an hour for an oil change even if you’re the first one there...super annoying, especially since there’s places that can do it in 10 minutes! the first one there...super annoying, especially since there’s places that can do it in 10 minutes! More
The only reason I gave this dealer 2 stars is because the salesman was very nice. After I did a test drive he thoroughly went over how things worked on the car. The downside was the negotiating. Honda of Cle salesman was very nice. After I did a test drive he thoroughly went over how things worked on the car. The downside was the negotiating. Honda of Clear Lake had Add-Ons they valued at over $2400. Floor mats were $599! Comparable WeatherTech mats are $206. Also low balled me on my trade in so I walked out. Buyer beware!! More

My veh Clear Lake in League City, TX on 11/20/20. My Service Advisor was Ted Holt. Ted was professional and straightforward in his communications. My vehicle was diagnosed with Code P0302 cylinder misfire with fouled spark plugs requiring a piston ring repair. The estimated cost was over $3,000. This is the same vehicle defect covered by Honda Service Bulletin 13-082. SB 13-082, referencing the Court Case Soto v. American Honda, extended the power train warranty for 8 years and unlimited miles for repairs for 2011-13 model year Pilots. I purchased my 2014 Pilot in October, 2013 at Honda of Fort Worth. This was the fourth Honda vehicle I have purchased, going back to the 1990s. I have done all my service at Honda dealers since then. I called Honda customer service on 11/23/20 and was told that because my vehicle was a model year 2014, Honda was unwilling to cover the repair, even though it is the same issue that was covered by SB 13-082. I sought assistance with this repair on the basis that it is the right thing to do for a long term customer that has a recognized defect. Clear Lake Honda also contacted American Honda on 11/23/20 to request assistance on my behalf, with no effect. CLH offered a discount on the service estimate, still leaving a total repair bill of over $3,000. I authorized the repair which was completed on 11/28/20. I received a call a week later asking for feedback. I said that I was not satisfied, and was told that the representative would follow up and call me back. I never heard anything more. After a more than 20 year customer relationship, I hope to never again set foot in any Honda dealer. More
Went in to have them look at an issue with my sunroof on my 2102 pilot, and oil change. I had pre-scheduled a loaner with service tech when making the appointment. Upon arrival was told that loaner would b my 2102 pilot, and oil change. I had pre-scheduled a loaner with service tech when making the appointment. Upon arrival was told that loaner would be 20 dollars a day and they would contact about repair. When i got the loaner, it looked like someone had took a xxxxe on the seats. I told the her I’m not paying 20 a day for a car that looks like this, she’s says its this or nothing. Having no other option i took the car, two hours later they call and tell me that to fix the sunroof it was going to be 2500 for parts and labor. After talking to the service tech i was told it would be close to 2 weeks before completed, at that point I decided I didn’t want pay both the fee and the rental with xxxxe on the seats. I went back to get my pilot which by this time was two hours later, only to be charged a total of 168.00. I asked why the total was so high and was told 40 for oil change, 20 for rental and 99 to diagnose the issues with sunroof. Frustrated I paid, and collected my pilot, only to find they ripped my headliner, and left greasy fingerprints all over the ripped headliner. When questioned they stated it came in that way, after arguing for 20 minutes that my headliner was not ripped nor damaged, they stated they were not responsible for any issues under new management rules. I have spent more 10,000 dollars we them over the years, and to be treated this way because of new management is irresponsible and poor customer service. i will not be back or recommend them More
Rowan in finance will not offer you standard packages on the car sale. She will also bald faced lie to you about what some of the packages offer. We were told we had everything except the unscheduled mainte the car sale. She will also bald faced lie to you about what some of the packages offer. We were told we had everything except the unscheduled maintenance, we don't. We were told we would have free loaners, which we don't have until manufacturers warranty runs out. She didn't offer us the oil change package and they arnt willing to go back and offer us the old package. The new package is almost 3x as much. Our sales person Anthony was great though 5 stars for him. James in service has been wonderful helping to the best of his ability, considering our car is 2 months old and already having problems. I was so happy with it, I absolutely loved everything about it, until they contacted me and told me to go in for a “state inspection” . I went in and waited for about 20 minutes before a guy came up to me and told me that the real reason why they had me there is to take back the car I just bought two weeks ago. I was so confused. He handed me my money back and told me the bank didn’t approve me??? then why did they give me a car in the first place??? please make it make sense don’t sell someone a car and get their hopes up just to ask for it back in two weeks. i felt so embarrassed terrible customer service and lack of communication I went in for one thing and I came out without a car. Deliberate deception by sales and service! Don't trust this dealership! Bought used 2017 Civic on Friday 7/31/20, had TPMS warning they 'fixed' prior to taking it home. They stated the back tires were over-pressurized which set off the sensor. Following Monday both the TPMS warning was back and the air conditioner did not work - after driving it locally in town not more than 50 miles! Service stated the condenser had a 'road hazard' stone damage and it was not covered. It would take 1-1/2 weeks to get the part and repair, I wanted to buy the part myself from another source to have installed, giving them the opportunity to fix it, they wouldn't even consider that, 1-1/2 weeks later the part was delayed another 2 weeks! I took car away from them to local repair shop, TPMS warning was cleared (maybe they really fixed it?) Found shop that could work with R123 ac coolant and had fixed car back one day later! I learned a lot about ongoing and common ac condenser 'road hazard' problems. I saved condenser which shows many leaks and oil stains nearly across the entire surface! TPMS low pressure indicator was also back, again 3 days after getting it back from the dealer. Discount Tire found leak too close to sidewall to repair and I had to replace it, indicating dealer pressurized and cleared system to get it off the lot! Based on the multiple leaks on the condenser I have to conclude they did the same with the air conditioning system. My advice! DON'T BUY anything from Clear Lake Honda and certainly don'[t buy any Honda unless a 'road hazard' protective screen is installed in front of the condenser! My rating - zero stars, if that is allowed. VicS More
Worst experience ever at Honda of Clear Lake. Helping my friend, who is handicapped and hard of hearing, to buy a car. Complete misinformation was given numerous times. After looking at a car and deciding i friend, who is handicapped and hard of hearing, to buy a car. Complete misinformation was given numerous times. After looking at a car and deciding it was too much in payment, we left. A few days later the sales guy, Nathan, called back and said we could get to the payment wanted and to come to the dealership. Within a few minutes of arriving, Nathan came and said there was a mistake and the manager did not see that he had a trade (even though that was clear from the previous visit since they did an appraisal on it) and they could not get to the desired payment. No manager came out to apologize, they left it to Nathan to handle. A few days later a follow up call was made and my friend decided on a different car that was less expensive and asked if that could get him to the payment he wanted. We were told to resubmit a credit app online so we did. We called back in and was told the finance manager had gone home for the day and they would call back in a few days. Keep in mind, this was July 31st, the last day of the month when dealers are trying to get all the sales they can for the month and they are saying the finance manager went home at 6:30 pm and no one else is able to buy a car? I called and spoke with Bennett Johnson, a sales manager, about this and other mess ups that had happened. He offered no apology and explained the finance manager was still there but the banks they contact were gone. A few days later we got a call from Nathan. He said a deal could be made at the price requested on the less expensive car. We went in and did some more negotiating to get to the price. It was a lease (not a purchase) on a new 2019. I asked if that was possible and he said yes. All the paperwork was signed (for a lease) and we left with the Honda. A few days later Nathan called and said we could not do a lease on a 2019 and we needed to come back and return the car. He said they would put my friend in a 2020 of exactly the same model, trim and color at the same monthly payment. He would need to sign new paper work. I called the sales manager Bennett Johnson to find out what went wrong and had to leave a voice mail. I called Nathan and we set up a time to come in. Bennett never called me back. We got there and the Finance Manager that we signed with originally helped us. I think her name is Rowan? We were told that my friend would have to come up with another $1600 in order to keep the payment the same for the 2020. I asked why didn’t Nathan tell us that before we came in? She said they could not talk about finance details on the phone. She said the payoff on his trade was put in at $27k and when they confirmed with GM Financial it was around $28.5k. I told her that was the payoff that I gave to them and that someone at the Honda dealer put in the wrong information. My friend did not have $1600 to put down so he returned his new Honda and got his original car back. When Nathan came back to return the keys, I asked why he didn’t mention the additional $1600 when he called us. He said he was not aware of it. On our way out we just happened to pass by Bennett Johnson and he said he saw my missed call right as we got there so that’s why he didn’t call back and then walked off. Our Finance person, Rowan(?) apologized for how things had happened and said things like this happen all the time. I really like Honda cars but I don’t like Honda of Clear Lake! Completely inexcusable for us to be treated like that. It is clear there is a problem with the management at this dealership. They treat people like crap and apparently don’t see any need to apologize for it. I wont be going back to Honda of Clear Lake and depending on if Honda allows its dealerships to treat people like this, I wont be buying another Honda! More

Poor workmanship in the service center. $5,700. was spent and the “technician” left off bolts, improper gasket sealing, and a return trip to fix it so they could try to rip me off some more. Now I have some and the “technician” left off bolts, improper gasket sealing, and a return trip to fix it so they could try to rip me off some more. Now I have some new rattles, oil leak still there but not nearly as bad, and where the heck are my valve stem covers? I will order another set from NFL website. I am a woman who has no problem getting a little grease under my acrylic nails, and businesses like Clear Lake Honda is why. My vehicle is my office, and I spent a lot of money making sure my office is able to continue going down the road (vehicle maintenance). This place will not be seeing me or my office again. Of course, in years past my office has been a Toyota, a Nissan, and a couple of Hyundai’s. I heard wonderful things about the Honda CRV when it was time to buy another vehicle. It probably was a good vehicle, when I purchased it. Pretty sure it won’t be from here on out. Expensive lesson learned. Save yourself, go somewhere else to have ANY work done. More
