Short version: they are thieves, delivered a car with non-disclosed issues and refused to make-good. Stay away Long version (please read if you consider buying from them): I purchased a pre-owned P non-disclosed issues and refused to make-good. Stay away Long version (please read if you consider buying from them): I purchased a pre-owned Porsche 911 from HiLine Motors, I'm out of state and bought it unseen. The car was described to me by Steve as "in perfect condition", with everything working and no need for service. Once paid and delivered, the car had several non-disclosed issues. Many past due services: (1) Brake rotors were completely worn out and needed replacement. (2) PDK (transmission) fluid change past due. (3) Clutch fluid change past due. (4) Break fluid change past due. And the car had problems: (1) The driver heating and cooling seat was not working. (2) Half of the A/C buttons were not functioning due to sticky (soda?) spills. I spent $3,688.08 for all the past due services, and $2,200.30 to have the driver seat fixed, a total of $5,888.38. I contacted Steve at HiLine Motors to request for them to pay at least for the seat repairs ($2,200.30) and they refused. I have filed a complaint with the Attorney General of Texas but I have low hopes of recovering anything. A few other red flags showing they don't care about their customers: - The car was shipped in open bed truck and arrived completely dirty and on an empty tank - One traffic light not working - Only one key fob was included, they never told me 2nd was missing. It cost $500~$600 for a new Porsche key fob (!) - They said they installed a new battery, but they have put a regular battery rather than a recommended AGM battery, and it was not charged Bottom line: do not trust them, stay away. Edit: after inspection at a shop, the car was found to have cracked control arm bushings, collapsed engine mounts, a broken fuel level sensor, several fluid leaks, and an air suspension fault requiring a have cracked control arm bushings, collapsed engine mounts, a broken fuel level sensor, several fluid leaks, and an air suspension fault requiring a new module. The cost of these repairs is $15,000. I am beside myself. Also, the service contract they sold me looks to be fake, and I am now suing them as DTPA case. I went to HiLine Motors December 10th and worked with Steve to trade in my Ford for a 2016 Audi S7. The transaction went smoothly. The Audi, however, had suspension/headlight issues that Steve agreed HiLine would take care of at no cost to me if I brought it back to them at the end of the week for a “quick fix.” That same week, it developed an oil leak and a coolant leak. I do not have another means of transportation and need this car to get to work, which is by no means close to home. I expressed this to Steve on several occasions. Here is the timeline: December 14th: Car is towed back to HiLine due to oil leak December 21st: I could not be out of work any longer and picked the car up from the shop Steve brought it to. Only the oil leak was fixed. We discussed me bringing it back again, as it is no longer a “quick fix.” January 17th: I bring the car back to HiLine for the other issues to be fixed January 29th: I pick up the car again because of work, nothing has been fixed. It did not get dropped off at the shop until the 25th. I have only had the car about a month and a half. During that time it was in Steve’s possession for about 3 weeks. And during THAT time, it was only in the shop for a collective 3 business days. During all of this, there was an egregious lack of communication on the part of Steve and HiLine. I never got the follow up phone calls I was promised, and never got a straight answer or timeline so I could plan accordingly. My calls were always bounced with the exception of a few, and my texts almost always went unanswered. The courteous thing to do would have been, at the very least, make the follow up phone calls promised or answer a text. At this point I will be bringing it to the shop myself and having them fix it under the service contract I purchased from them. If you choose to buy a car from HiLine Motors, ensure it does not have issues first. Judging by my experience and other reviews, once they have your money, you are no longer a priority. In fact, you will be ignored a majority of the time. If there was any concern for my situation, it would have been handled more efficiently and communication would not have been a battle. More
Steve Salerno is a shady scam artist. Will promise you anything to get you to buy a car and then string you along once they have your money. Read their fine print on the "We Owe" secti Will promise you anything to get you to buy a car and then string you along once they have your money. Read their fine print on the "We Owe" section of the dealer contract very carefully. They can promise you the world, but it is void after 30 days. Steve said he would have stains in the leather seats dyed and scratches in the ceramic window tint redone. I tried making numerous appointments to fix what he promised and he strung me along for three months saying he needed to find time with the "provider." Now he won't even respond to my text messages.
