I have been shopping for a new car for over a month now. I test drove so many different cars, but I really wanted a Honda Pilot. It was very important that my payments stay within a certain amount, and Dan I test drove so many different cars, but I really wanted a Honda Pilot. It was very important that my payments stay within a certain amount, and Dan Thompson made sure that it happened. I got the SUV that I wanted, and the process was painless. I have leased/bought many different cars before, and I can honestly say that my experience at Hansel Honda was beyond superb. Everybody was extremely helpful, and I am definitely recommending this dealership to all of my clients and friends. More
Last week, my Mother's 09 Honda Element developed a pin-hole leak in the radiator. I suggested she take it to the Hansel to get it replaced and she did. The work was fine, however the issue was the pri pin-hole leak in the radiator. I suggested she take it to the Hansel to get it replaced and she did. The work was fine, however the issue was the price. While not ridiculous, $279 for labor seemed high - even for a dealer. I expect to pay more from a dealer. I expect the factory parts and quality service that goes along with it. What I don't expect are lame excuses. But that's exactly what I got when I called and asked for the service manager (Dave) to explain why the labor charge seemed a bit higher than what I would have expected. Now, I'm relatively reasonable and was simply looking for an explanation of the charges. But as soon as I asked this, he got on the defensive, and never let up. A good service manager is trained in customer service. Dave was trained in excuses. Wouldn't even let me get in a word in edgewise and became rather rude rather quickly. I wasn't upset when I called. Not at all. Mostly curious. But Dave did his best to change that. I got quotes from 2 other Honda dealers, both claimed it was a 1.5 hr job to replace the radiator for this exact model. Hansel charged 2.4 hrs labor. Dave claimed this was for diagnostics. The car was brought in with the simple instruction. Replace the radiator. No diagnosis needed. When I called Dave, all I was looking for was perhaps a small discount. What I got instead was excuses and I guy who wouldn't listen for more than 2 seconds. He kept repeating, "Well, you've already made up your mind that you were over charged, so there's nothing I can do" But it wasn't. I didn't make up my mind until he convinced me. I was overcharged. Therefore, I would recommend shopping other Honda dealers for factory service before I ended up at Hansel. More
I was told that they would match my quote from another dealer if I showed them it in print (I already told them the price), but refused to do so when I DID show them the quote. If you can't match the pric dealer if I showed them it in print (I already told them the price), but refused to do so when I DID show them the quote. If you can't match the price, just be clear, don't waste my time! More

I bought my first new car - 2009 Honda Civic in Sept. 2008. Salesman (Jasmin) was wonderful. No pressure, very professional. Finance Manager (forgot his name) was fantastic! Worked with me on financi 2008. Salesman (Jasmin) was wonderful. No pressure, very professional. Finance Manager (forgot his name) was fantastic! Worked with me on financing with so-so credit and very minimal down payment. APR was surprisingly low. Jasmin keeps in touch periodically to see if I need anything. Oil changes, etc. are handled by Regan and his crew. They treat me like royalty - also very professional. Brenda (in parts) is wonderful to work with for things I need for my 88 Prelude and 87 Accord. Needless to say I'm a Honda fanatic and a Hansel Honda fan! Thanks guys - you're the best!! More

This Honda dealer, like the previous Honda dealer I worked with, use the deceptive business practice of giving you a dollar amount for your trade in, and neglecting to tell you that this is the amount worked with, use the deceptive business practice of giving you a dollar amount for your trade in, and neglecting to tell you that this is the amount with "tax savings". What this meant is I was told $13K for my car, which was bluebook for my condition. I was satisifed. When it came time to sign the papers the trade in was $12,500. I had to have a big argument to get an extra $500. My last deal in Illinois, I specifically said, you are giving me XYZ dollars for my trade-in, correct? They said YES, only to have the same experience. So, even if they write it down and tell you the trade in value, it is NOT what they are giving you for the car. More

Basically go sit over there and wait for finance. I realized there's not much profit incentive for the Fit, so, it didn't matter too much. Much later during the visit to the finance manager things started to go south fast. I had chosen the Costco program for haggle free shopping. This was not a haggle free experience. The usual scare tactics were employed. The usual add ons were feverishly pitched. This led to the final straw (the optional alarm). I was told by Dan, that the vehicle was equipped with only a keyless entry and not an alarm. I had thought that the vehicle came with a factory installed alarm system. Dan was certain, so, I reluctantly agreed to have the Karr alarm system added at delivery. To make matters worse, unbeknownst to me the finance manager financed me under the cuddle system even though I told her multiple times from the start that I was pre financed. Each time I questioned as to her understanding of my existing financing, she claimed to be checking on my loan status. I found out about her scam only after the fact upon visiting my CU to make loan arrangements. My original loan had been replaced with another via cuddle. I would never had know if it wasn't for the CU representative pointing out the fact. No money loss to me it just meant the dealer was cut in on the financing. Another act of unprofessionalism in my book. When I took delivery of car I was told to set up an appointment to install the Karr alarm. Within a couple of days my daughter set off the standard alarm that the vehicle was equipped with all along. I immediately contacted my salesman, Dan Thompson, and he said that he would see to it that my optional alarm money be refunded. To this day I have not received a refund. I have contacted the dealership numerous times. I have also contacted Costco advocacy numerous times. Costco has contacted the dealership several times on my behalf. They all tell me they just cant understand why I haven't received my refund. All parties are adamant that this is just an isolated incident. The paperwork is in and its up to the finance manager now. How does a business that acts this way towards customers continue to exist? Please don't give Hansel your patronage. I hope others share their experiences for others to earn from. More

He arranged for a tow truck to bring me and the car down to Petaluma and then set me up with a service loaner car when he realized that he would have the car for a few days. Luke recommended replacing all of the hoses (as they all looked as if they had never been changed. In addition, I had the timing belt done and a valve job done. The car was returned to me in tip-top shape. I have driven it over a week and it purrs like a kitten. I expect this car to last another 100.000 miles knowing that all of my servicing will be done at Hansel Honda. More
I am satisfied with my deal I got from Hansel Honda & am surprised at the negative comments posted in 2004. Maybe sales has changed since then, but I leased a 2007 CRV & am more than pleased with my purchase. I love, love, love my new car for too many reasons to describe here & I was able to get a great deal on my financing, only $1200 down on a 36 month lease. I also purchased my previous car at Hansel Honda ( a pre-owned Acura Integra - never a problem with that car either). All in all, I am so happy with the dealership, I will certainly return there for my next car too. PS the guy who had the rat problem should know that there isn't a warranty exists for any product that would cover damage done by rodents. Hire an exterminator! And who would want to drive a car that has been deemed "unsafe" to drive anyway? More
