Just bought a used Pilot I have been looking for a Honda Pilot for a while and I had specific requirements for my car. I found it at Hansel Honda. I emailed them from the webs I have been looking for a Honda Pilot for a while and I had specific requirements for my car. I found it at Hansel Honda. I emailed them from the website for the "internet price" which was the same as listed on the website. I gave them an offer and they came back with 1500 under asking price. So I agreed to buy it. I drove 350 miles to get this car. I paid them 3/4 down and even asked for a few months of Sirius xm radio but No one would give it to me. Seriously. I know it doesn't cost them any money to give a few months free of xm radio. Hard pressed. Daniel Gowa talked to me online he was helpful but I ended up working with Michael. So I signed the papers. It was getting late and dark out. I have a 18 month old and she was ready to go. My ride down was outside keeping her occupied. They parked another vehicle behind mine and couldn't find the keys to it. Seriously. the sign says purchased car parking only. At least give more room. So I made Michael back my car out around the other car. First time I purchased a vehicle from a dealer. At least they were nice guys. More
Changed price and added fees after long drive to dealership After a long and involved email and phone discussion with Krystal Morgan, Curt Miller and finally Shane Riveras we arrived at a price for a year end m After a long and involved email and phone discussion with Krystal Morgan, Curt Miller and finally Shane Riveras we arrived at a price for a year end model of 2015 Honda CRV EX-L. Curt sent us an "out the door" price including tax and license and told us everything was included. I explained we were an older retired couple and didn't want to make the long journey to the dealership if there was not a true deal. Curt reassured me he has been a car salesman since 1979 and would never steer me wrong. HMM Except he was going on vacation so he would personally choose a sales rep to take care of us. Shane Riveras was given all the details and said he would be ready to accept our check to purchase the car. After we arrived, we were put in a back office where the Sales Manager Jasmin Bajromovic said that he couldn't "Sugar coat the fact that our price in writing" was not what he could sell the car for. He said that the destination fee had been omitted and we would have to pay $895 additional. Then Shane Riveras called us at home after we had journeyed 200 miles each way to tell us that if we could just pay that extra $895 we could have the car. More
Lies lies lies and shady business practices. Beware! I would like to preface this review by saying that my cousin bought a brand new odessy elite here, my sister bought a used odessy exl at hansel sr, a I would like to preface this review by saying that my cousin bought a brand new odessy elite here, my sister bought a used odessy exl at hansel sr, and my girl bought a used piolt exl at hansel sr (all within 3 months) and their experience was great. No complaints there. If i ended up purchasing my vehicle there, that would have made it 4 cars in 3 months that we purchased from hansel group for a total of $130,000... not too shabby right? Take care of the repeat customer right? Nope... thats not what happened. I've been searching the web and talking to dealerships for months in search for my next new car. My top choice was the 2015 honda accord exl v6. The best quote i could get was from honda vallejo (email advertised). The vallejo price was excellent.. so i decided i would go to hansel to see if they could beat the quote (or even match it) because my whole family went there to pick up their new rides... i figured, why not bring my business there as well. I did all my research, got a auto loan pre approval, found the price i wanted, then contacted hansel honda to see if they could work with me on price. I forwarded the email to sales and they said that they could "definitely" beat it. So i went on in. Im going to summarize what happened next: they pulled my credit without me wanting them to (they said i was only filling out the form to show good faith), wasted an hour and a half of my time doing the "i need to check with my sales manager" routine, and ended up telling me that they could only match the price without destination charges ($820).. and that the price i was quoted from vallejo also did not include destination charges. I told them that it did, and I'm positive of it...they replied that it was impossible that was the case. They then tried the old school negotiating tactics on me (utilizing 4 square).. but i told them that i was only there to discuss price because i had everything else worked out already. After a couple of more attempts to discuss other things than price.. they said they cant do the price i was asking. I left soon after.... thoroughly upset because: -i went there under the pretenses that they would be able to beat my quote. Not only could they not beat it... they couldn't even (more likely: didn't want to) match it. AND their argument was that it was "impossible" that my quote included destination fees (i checked.. it did). -they wasted my time trying to sell me when they apparently did not ever want to sell me the vehicle at the price i wanted (that another dealer was willing to sell at in writing). -i was lied to: they lied that they could beat my quoted price just to get me in... then fed me some xx about what fees the price did not include. Also, they ran my credit without my permission... they just wanted to use it as leverage for negotiations. -they totally insulted my intelligence with this whole situation... i think they didn't give me the price simply because they didnt want to. $820 isn't going to break theirs or my bank.. they just wanted to be xxxxxx.. or, they were testing out the sales person (who was new) to see how he would do.. they could have even been observing it all from afar to evaluate his sales technique. I took a course in negotiations... so it was totally obvious to me what they were doing as they were doing it. Im not mad at the sales guy.. he was nice.... but it was obvious that he had no say in anything, he was just doing as he was instructed to do...im thinking that the sales manager is the one who made this whole situation an ordeal for me. What a load of xx i was being fed!!! Anyway.. i drove to manly honda straight after and got a deal done in 5 minutes. .. i didn't bother trying to get them to beat vallejos price... i was too tired of all the xx... but they said they would match it with little hesitation or negotiation. They were also able to beat my preapproved loan rate. Such a big difference between the two dealers... night and day. 1 star is about right. ... only because hansel honda treated my cousin right when he bought his new odessy elite. Sorry if this was choppy and for spelling/grammar errors... i wrote this all up on my phone. More

We both felt that Les was a refreshingly down-to-earth, honest (and non-pushy) salesman and we wanted to go back to him specifically if we decided to get a new Honda in the near-future. Lots of research convinced us that the Honda CR-V is pretty much THE family car to get in the $25-30k range, so we went back to purchase an EX-L from Les and we were again rewarded with excellent service which then transitioned into an excellent car-buying experience. The next level of sales (the lengthy extended warranties part) was a little off-putting, but I understand that new car sales by themselves don't make a lot of profit and this is just a necessary part of the business. We politely declined all the extra warranties and the friendly salesman (we forget his name) was pretty quick to realize that we weren't going to bite, and thankfully he didn't push us much more after that. The post-sales follow up emails with genuinely good-sounding offers were another nice touch. We'll definitely recommend Hansel Honda to any/all friends that we hear of shopping for a new or used Honda. More
