Hagerstown Ford responded

It is disappointing to have to run an hour to get somewhere only to have your hopes dashed especially when you are a repeat customer. There was a mistake made, no question, but there is no benefit for the dealership to mislead a customer. We truly thought we had an approval. Unfortunately our approvals ultimately come from banks and the people at the bank who dictate the approval process. We are only human, and we make mistakes… but our desire to help you get this vehicle was totally motivated by the fact that we thought we had you approved. I assure you we don’t take pleasure in hurting someone’s feelings. I see here that not only did Andy admit that he had obviously made a mistake, and apologized, you were compensated for your gas as well. There isn’t really much beyond that that we can do besides admit we were wrong and try to correct it. Maybe you can’t relate to making an honest mistake, but when we do – we do our best to make it right. It is a shame that you say won’t be returning as a customer to Hagerstown Ford and that you slammed Andy, who was mortified over the mistake and obviously went to measures to try to correct it. It wasn’t done with malice, or deceit. His commitment to his customers shows in the numerous happy customers that review him and tell how he went above and beyond to see they found their dream vehicle. When all said and done though, we wish you luck in your car buying endeavors and hope that you don’t let honest mistakes stand in the way of a happy holiday season.
