Hey, check out that Lamborghini!” To make it worse, I was texting with the staff all week about the car under the guise that they actually had the car. Then, after all the walking around the property looking for the car, having the sales guy playing dumb, we get back to the sales floor, they tell me the car isn’t there (after texting me about the car all week and making an actual appointment to look at the car). And then all they did was try to sell me a Toyota. These people strung me along. Absolutely not buying from them. More

I brought it to Grossinger and they kept the car for 3 days while they got the part and made sure it was installed correctly. When I got my car back, there were huge deep scratches on the side of the car. They took the car back and said they would fix it. They kept the car for another 2 weeks while they repaired it. Then, they drove the car to a body shop in the FAR suburbs of Chicago and added over 80+ miles to my brand new car with only 60 miles on it. I made multiple calls, sent emails, and left voicemails to Grossinger and they never responded to me. There were many more issues along the way, but the general manager promised he would make it right after multiple mess ups on their part. He asked me to think about what would make it right, I suggested that we continue the maintenance service to be extended past one oil change, they said they would look into it and get it done. And have ignored me since. Basically, they will say WHATEVER it takes to get you to buy a car, then say whatever it takes to make you go away. More

Each time they have had it, they break something else in the process. I'm not sure if this is a scam to keep getting more $$$ or what, needless to say I'm removing my car from their facility to have it repaired and all they work they claimed to do on it inspected as the shoddy workmanship performed by this dealer can't be trusted. Mark the service manager, and Paul the service advisor could care less about customer satisfaction, perhaps they will care when the real boss asks the what happened when they have to respond to a court summons. Makes no sense because my information should be in the system and any other rep should be able to give me an update. So I call the next day only to be told the Technician that was out sick and I had to wait until he returned. Makes no sense because there are several Technicians working. Totally unprofessional, and when I ask to speak to a manager I get the rep standing next to the person I just talked to telling me I just have to wait. I expect this from a regular body shop...not the "Dealer". More

Left Without Vehicle, too Similar to the last review, we, too left without a vehicle after spending four hours in the dealership. But what makes our situation worse is that we Similar to the last review, we, too left without a vehicle after spending four hours in the dealership. But what makes our situation worse is that we got to the last piece of paper of signing with the business center before we realized Grossinger's mistake. My husband saw a used Lexus advertised for $33K on the internet, and after test driving it, we wanted to buy it. However - our salesman's (Miguel) first offer was $41K. Imagine our surprise that his offer was $8K more than the internet had. It wasn't until I produced the internet page verifying the VIN number that Miguel (and manager) changed the offer. In the 2nd offer, the price was $33K, but that price then had destination charge ($995) added to the total price that included taxes and title. There should not be a destination charge for a used car - and even if there is - why wasn't it on the 1st offer? All of these things should have been "red flags" to us. We then countered with $31.5K (+ $500 trade-in) and we would do a down payment of $8K. Miguel went back to his manager (Tremaine) and came back and told us that it was accepted. An hour later we started the paperwork in the Financial dept. Thirty minutes after that - we charged money on our credit card, wrote a check and signed about 15 forms. As I was looking at one of the very last forms, I noticed that one of the lines had 33K on it. We pointed it out and Miguel and then eventually Tremaine came down. According to Tremaine, he thought the $31.5K offer was AFTER our $8K down payment (thereby making our total price $39.5K). Why in the world would Tremaine think that? The total price of the car was $33K. That was what we were negotiating on - the total price of the car. Did he not think we could do simple math? Tremaine would not budge on the price of the car, so we told them we wanted to cancel everything. So - at that point, we were only out the four hours of our time and the frustration of dealing with Tremaine. However, the Financial Department at Grossinger did not reverse / cancel everything - as they said they would. Five days later, they still had not refunded our $2K on our credit card, so we alerted our credit card company and even now (five weeks later), the credit card company is still in dispute with Grossinger. Add to that frustration - when we went to a real car dealership (Lexus McGrath) and bought a different car, we found out that Grossinger never reversed the license plate transfer transaction. So we couldn't transfer the old license plate and instead had to buy new ones. Just another negative effect from our dealings with Grossinger. After that experience at Grossinger, my husband's opinion of Toyota was completely soured. I truly believe that Miguel communicated properly to Tremaine. It's not hard to communicate $31.5K to a manager. I just think that Tremaine thought if he puts all these numbers on a form and acts like we're getting such a deal, that we would go ahead with everything. Between his shadiness and the ineptness of the Financial department, I would recommend going elsewhere to buy a car. More
