Purchased a used Toyota Camry in November 2012 around Thanksgiving from this dealership called Towne Kia, now renamed Gateway Kia. Saw car through their internet site. Went to look at car in dealer lot. Thanksgiving from this dealership called Towne Kia, now renamed Gateway Kia. Saw car through their internet site. Went to look at car in dealer lot. The price on the sticker was almost double of what I saw on the internet. After 20-30 minutes of me looking at this car outside in the lot a salesman came over. I asked why the price difference between the internet & the sticker on the car. He had no answer but told me that the internet price is the correct price. Asked to take the car for a ride, car would not start. After 15 minutes the salesman got a mechanic to jump start the car. Took the car up & down the highway about 3 miles as there was no gas in the car & the gas light was on. The car had an exhaust leak as I could hear it & smell it while inside the car. The car ran horrible as the battery was just about dead. Went inside to talk business & mentioned that I saw an internet coupon for $500 off any car in the lot. This salesman was brand new. He even gave me his card with his name written in pen over the old salemans name on the card. He new nothing about the $500 offer neither did his co-worker. Spoke with a manager who gave me the $500 offer for the car. The deal included a new battery but no exhaust leak repair as the car was sold as is. Two days later came to pick the car up with my wife & paid them in cash. They made us wait over an hour to wait to speak with a manager to sign the final paperwork. The manager was trying to make a deal for a $30.000 piece of garbage Kia & made us wait as our car was not sold for nearly as much. I spoke with them about the exhaust leak & if they would repair it as the leak was directly under the front seats. Again they said no so I asked if they would install the exhaust part & I would pay for the part. They again told me no. Drove the car home & almost passed out from the exhaust fumes. Three & a half weeks later I got a letter that the plates were in & come down to pick them up. The letter said to go to Towne Hyundai to get the plates which was a mile or less from Towne Kia where the car was purchased. Went to Tone Hyundai & they do not have my plates & said they may be at Towne Kia. Went to original dealership Towne Kia, guess what! They did not have them either. Just before I was going to go freak out they found the plates. This was the worst experienence I have ever had with a dealership after buying over 15 cars in my lifetime. Stay far far away from Gateway Kia More
My lease was coming to an end and I came into Towne Kia to see about turning in my Forte early and upgrading to an Optima. My salesman Mark Richards was not only friendly and very knowledgeable, but he was to see about turning in my Forte early and upgrading to an Optima. My salesman Mark Richards was not only friendly and very knowledgeable, but he was able to get me a price that worked within my budget. I absolutely love my new Optima!
