Do NOT trust Freeway Honda if you want to sell your car. Francisco from Freeway Honda contacted me about potentially purchasing my old car (after seeing that I had looked up the value of my car on Kelly's B Francisco from Freeway Honda contacted me about potentially purchasing my old car (after seeing that I had looked up the value of my car on Kelly's Blue Book website). I immediately informed him that the car was not able to start, had a dead battery, a check engine light, and transmission issues. I did not want to waste anyone's time so was up front. He asked me for some pictures of the car and after I sent them, he told me if I got the car to the dealership within 2 hours, he would pay me $600. I immediately contacted a tow truck and informed him of my ETA to which he responded "great." When I arrived, he told me the dealership changed their mind because the car was not operational (evidently he sent a text when i was driving with the tow truck that I obviously didnt get). I reminded him that I had not only been upfront about that but also clarified that the car needed to be towed. The on-staff manager Joe Zinno, not only called me "hon" (aggravating) but kept me and the tow truck waiting while telling me they might be able to work something out if I could leave the car overnight and return the next day. When I asked if I would be paid before leaving as promised, Francisco responded "I said you'd get paid, but never said when." (slimy). In any event, Joe Zinno produced some paperwork claiming that I owed $1,100 in fees to the DMV. I explained I have a clear title to my car and it has been in planned-nonoperational status for 2 years. He told me they couldnt buy the car per their policy and so sorry hon...I was left stuck with my car and the tow truck driver and now had to make the return trip home..... I called the DMV the next day and the agent straight-up verified that Joe and the Honda freeway folks were "full of xxxx." He confirmed I owed zero fees and explained that Joe must have run my plate through the system as if it were nonoperational. Not only did I waste hours of time, I lost money on having to pay for a tow truck. DO NOT TRUST THE WORDS OF JOE, FRANCISCO AND THE HONDA TEAM. More
