I've bought a LOT of vehicles in my life and enjoy sharing my experiences here to help others get good deals but I have to say this was my best shopping experience EVER! I just got home from the 85 mi sharing my experiences here to help others get good deals but I have to say this was my best shopping experience EVER! I just got home from the 85 mile drive from Los Angeles but BOY was it worth it! I just purchased a NBP 2006 EX-P AWD A/T Honda Element and paid $500 UNDER dealer invoice ($20,677.58) plus tax and license and it was a pleasure to take part in the best new car buy I've ever participated in! Folks, SANTA ANA Honda is the place. What other dealership has the general manager and owner riding around the lot in a golf cart, dressed in a t-shirt and jeans (and driving to work on a monster yellow motorcycle)? How about ZERO. Have you ever seen the GM willing to take a customer on a test drive? AND THIS IS A BIG STORE!! I mean my gf and I saw him near my new E when we first got there and he came up to us and said the car would be detailed soon. We thought he was a lot jockey! Then my contact at the dealership pointed him out and said, oh yea, he's the OWNER! Sensing an opening I invited him to sit down inside at the table I was waiting at and had a long conversation, the result being he came out to my 2004 EXS Element in the parking lot and gave me nearly retail for it (he said, "sell me on it"), so I traded it in. $17500 is what it worked out to be when I took off the new Yakima roof rack, Lund bug and door wind deflectors, carpets, etc. Yea I could probably have gotten five hundred to a grand more EVENTUALLY but Santa Ana Honda made it so xxxx easy it was worth it. In fact if you factor in my GREAT price on the new EX-P, in effect I did get full retail for my trade! AMAZING. Damon and Ali in the internet department even dealer traded to get my new vehicle. No typical BS that it would cost more if they had to do so. They just searched diligently and got the E and detailed it out and their store even switched all the parts over from my trade, while I waited! And when I was signing the papers not a peep about extended warranties, gap insurance, lojacks, window etching, fabric protection. WOW - how refreshing! I even told the finance guy that on carbuyingtips.com they call his type "lie-nance" managers - he got a kick out of that! And when in passing I mentioned I was planning to get my wheels chromed the owner took me aside and gave me the name and number of a place to get it done for $100 per wheel, closer to my home. UNHEARD OF. You and I know that dealers always try for a good $800 to a thousand dollar pop (if not more) for chromies! My girlfriend even remarked, unlike so many other dealers, these guys just "Get it!" I read the reviews below and have to say that some of them sound like real unsophisticated buyers. I also question if the same ownership was in place when they visited. I NEVER even set foot in a dealership to buy a vehicle until I've worked out the deal over the phone beforehand. I only go cold into dealerships where I KNOW I won't be buying because they charge too much and then it's for the purpose of confirming what model and color I want. Those high priced dealers may call me a "stroke" but I call them a "rip." More
Went in for warranty service and my Accord came out worse than when I took it in. Is that possible? I guess so. Car makes a whining noise from the engine bay now after a warranty transmission replacem than when I took it in. Is that possible? I guess so. Car makes a whining noise from the engine bay now after a warranty transmission replacement, so I took it back. They charged me $95 to lube up some parts and the noise is still there. I get home and my window's stop working for some reason (power windows don't hold up too well against the rain, if they don't work). Noise is getting louder and louder by the day. Now they say I need a new alternator and tell me, "it's just a coincidence that all these problems are happening after our warranty work." I went to my local mechanic, who says it's a faulty transmission they put in (nothing to do with the Alternator they said I needed to replace $400+). Service is horrible, since they have sales guys working the service department, they try and pressure you. They try to sell you anything and everything they can (related to service) and put you in a very uncomfortable situation. Last time I went, they wouldn't release my car to me because they said they ordered a new transmission already, which I did not authorize. So I had to call Honda Customer Service while I was there, so they can give me my car back. They wouldn't give me my car back... can you believe that? (saying they already ordered parts without my discretion) By the way, I only went back there because they were familiar with my vehicle and responsible for the services performed on it. Believe me, it's a nightmare that is really making me reconsider ever buying a Honda. How does an authorized dealer get away with this? I feel ripped off, inconvenienced and disrespected. If you don't mind feeling that way, than get service work at Santa Ana Honda... I know I never will. More
I brought my car in for its scheduled basic maintenance. They put on the wrong oil filter and it leaked everywhere. When I brought the Odyssey back to have them fix it, they just left it sitting in their garage and left me waiting for about 3 hours with no one who could tell me anything. I finally just marched into the garage area ignoring all their danger signs and drove away. I found out they'd fixed it right the second time and then just not bothered to tell anyone it was done and the mechanic just went home. He had a nice warm dinner, but mine was cold, just like me feelings for this dealership. NEVER go there. More
I had the WORST experience ever at this dealer. I drove for 50 miles to this dealer looking for a 02 civic Si. Test drove it, and wanted to purchase it with cash. the sales rep. and sales manager kept argu for 50 miles to this dealer looking for a 02 civic Si. Test drove it, and wanted to purchase it with cash. the sales rep. and sales manager kept arguing with me that a 02 and 03 civic Si would be the same price and that they would not have any room for negotiation. After 30mins of negotiation and BS from them me and my friends decided to leave after them saying "Maybe you should walk"<br><br>Besides they had a stupid DJ setup and was noisy. DO NOT EVEN STEP FOOT INTO THEM, the ABSOLUTLY WORST EXPERIENCE IVE EVER HAD More
