I arrived around 5:45pm on Tues, March 9. I did a quick test drive of a 2021 4Runner, which I quickly decided I wanted to leave with. My sales person was very nice, but he was new. Apparently the guy in test drive of a 2021 4Runner, which I quickly decided I wanted to leave with. My sales person was very nice, but he was new. Apparently the guy in finance was also new. It took over 3 hours to get this deal done because a 'seasoned finance employee' had to come in to assist the new employee in order for me to leave with the vehicle. Since it was after 9pm when everything was wrapped up (the dealership closes at 7pm), I was told I could come back another day to be walked through the vehicle goodies and set up the features that come with the Limited model because I would have to come back to get my 2nd key - because no one had a key to the cabinet that was holding my 2nd key . On March 11, I received a text message from the dealership stating my salesman forgot to get a copy of my driver's license and asked me to text it to him. I texted a copy of my driver's license to him, but my salesperson did take a photo copy of my license, which means they lost it, disposed of it, or left it laying around somewhere. On the following Saturday, I went into the dealership to get my 2nd key. Everyone at the dealership looked busy so I didn't talk to anyone about the features (I still can't get the Remote Services to connect because the app isn't in my Communications in my apps - I guess I'll figure it out some day or never.). Then, 1-2 weeks later (I appear to have deleted the text), I received a text from the dealership stating that I needed to drop off my down payment. In all of the excitement on March 9, I left with my down payment check. During the evening on March 9, I wanted to give my check a couple times, but I was told to hang on to it a little longer (due to the confusion of the finance guy being able to process the paperwork). So I returned to the dealership on the following Saturday and dropped off the check and left. Today is April 20. My paper plate expires on April 23. I just spent nearly an hour at the BMV, only to find out that the title is not in the BMV system. The BMV confirmed the dealership was required to process the title within 30 days [from March 9]. I called the dealership, and I was told that my title was sent through for processing on April 16 (outside of the 30-day window). The dealership says they will call me tomorrow... or Thursday... definitely by Friday... to let me know when it's done, and that I can go back to the BMV. They have an additional form that I will need to take to the BMV though. I was told I can pick that form up after they call me, or they can mail it to me. I pointed out that my paper plate expires in 3 days, and I was told to make sure I have my paperwork in the vehicle if I'm driving around on an expired plate. Please keep in mind, I wasn't informed by the dealership that there was any delay in my title... I had to waste an hour of my time at the BMV to find this out. And if all of this was not enough, I learned that a new vehicle with 1,000+ miles (like the one I got) is considered a demo model. No, I did not receive a demo model discount. This summarizes my experience, so far, with this dealership. More
